Flavoforge Consultancy is seeking a Food Technologist (R&D/Product Development) in Chennai/Trichy. The ideal candidate will take client briefs and turn them into working products, assess feasibility, run trials and document processes, keeping the client informed at every stage.

You should have 2–5 years of experience in food product development or R&D, with hands-on formulation, trial execution and scale-up, plus knowledge of food safety standards (FSSAI) and strong documentation skills.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Food Technologist who can take a clients brief and turn it into a working product. You will assess whether a project is feasible, propose the solution, run the trials, and document the final process, while keeping the client informed at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Creation

• Work with the sales team to understand client requirements as documented
• Assess technical feasibility, including ingredients, process, shelf life, cost and regulatory considerations
• Prepare clear project proposals with scope, timelines and deliverables

Project Execution

• Conduct preliminary research and literature or ingredient study once a client is onboarded.
• Plan and run lab and pilot trials to develop a product that meets the clients specifications
• Evaluate trial outcomes and refine iteratively
• Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation for the finalised product

Client Handling – Coordinate with project manager during project execution.

Candidate Profile

• B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc in Food Technology, Food Science or a related field
• 2-5 years of experience in food product development, R&D or a similar role
• Hands-on experience with formulation, trial execution and scale-up
• Good understanding of food processing, ingredient functionality and food safety standards (FSSAI)
• Strong documentation skills, including SOPs, trial reports and proposals
• Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort handling clients directly
• Organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
