Job summary

Asthamurti Foods is seeking a quality-focused professional to oversee food quality during processing and manufacturing. The role involves ensuring health and safety compliance, defining quality standards per government regulations, and leading new product development for snacks like Namkeen and Wafers.

You will conduct sensory, shelf-life, proximate, and microbiological testing, while documenting SOPs and transferring technology for new products.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on experience in quality control and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Experience with HACCP, food safety, and regulatory standards (FSSAI).
• Involvement in product development, formulation, and scale-up for snacks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining the food quality and checking its processing and manufacturing
• Ensuring that the food items are not harmful to health
• Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met
• Determining quality control standards in food as per Govt. Regulations
• New Product Development R&D for Seasoning FMCG FOOD Manufacturing Industry. Like - Namkeen, Wafers, Fryums, Tea time snacks (Maida), etc.
• Translate business objectives and corresponding plans to define a brand strategy with a compelling value Benchmarking of seasonings and product formulation/ Pilot Recipe development (Trial and testing)/ formulation of food products.
• Product Testing - Physical, Chemical & Microbiological testing of foods, On regular basis by randomly selecting products.
• Preparation of SOPs for current and new products.
• Making in house seasonings for current and new product development.
• Transfer technology for new product's equipments and government regulatory functional inputs to Production Manager.
• Resolve manufacturing formulation, processing and manufacturing issues on daily basis.
• Conduct projects to improve plant costs (by researching and suggesting latest technology, equipment), product margins, quality and business excellence goals in product and process-related fields.
• Keeping keen eye on market launches, mapping of products to understand the market trend and proactively suggest and develop new concepts/products/seasonings.
• Guiding and providing documentation for process stages in Quality Control especially during the implementation to Production Manager and mentioning the same in SOP.
• Sensory Evaluation and Shelf-Life testing of Foods.
• Good hands on experience on quality control instruments.
• Design recipes in development phase to ensure that nutritional parameters are met before recipe is finalized.
• Implementing steps for improving products, process rejections and defects.
• Carry out proximate analysis, nutritional evaluation, shelf life and microbiological evaluation.
• Plan and execute scale-up trials at factory level.
• Vendor development to achieve innovation in ingredient and process.
• Monitoring statutory compliance with specification for in-house and external formulation.
• Compliance to FSSAI rules and regulations for foods and label declarations (for packaging).
• Command on Food Safety and Standards Act- 2006 and its regulations Food Safety and Standards Regulations- 2011 and Codex Standards (International Food Standard).
• Skilled in development of various Processed and Convenience foods.
• Exposure to world class research and new developments in food and beverage sector.
• Profound knowledge on implementation of quality management systems Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) in food and beverage sector.
• Should be self-motivated and self-driven to suggest betterment in products, services, processes, etc which are in alignment as per Organisation's Mission, Vision, Values and Objectives.
