Job summary

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) Visakhapatnam seeks a Food Safety - Executive to uphold food safety standards in campus food preparations and serving areas. The role includes conducting audits in line with FSSAI guidelines and ensuring documentation is complete.

You will oversee sampling, lab testing with NABL-approved labs, training for food handlers, and maintaining records across multiple campus food operations.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Food Technology and Science from a recognized University.
• 2–3 years of experience in hotels, restaurants, institutional catering or similar industry.

Responsibilities

• Send food samples of cooked and raw materials to a NABL approved lab and record quarterly audit reports.
• Investigate and take necessary precautions in case of foodborne illness outbreaks and implement corrective actions.
• Manage audit schedules and ensure cleaning programs adhere to timelines.
• Perform vendor and material quality checks and maintain related reports.
• Provide on-the-job food safety, hygiene and grooming training to staff and maintain records.

Job Title: Food Safety - Executive

Job Location: Visakhapatnam

Job Summary

To ensure food safety standard at the campus food preparations and serving areas at all the time and as frequently conducting audits at campus food establishments checking licences, checklists and required documents as per the FSSAI guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Food samples of food cooked and raw material must send to the NABL approved lab to test and record the reports for quarterly audit.
• Responsible to investigate and take necessary precaution if any food borne illness outbreak reports and corrective action.
• Responsible for audit and ensure all cleaning schedules followed as per the time lines.
• Responsible to do a quality check of material and vendor audit as per the schedule and maintain reports.
• Providing on job food safety and hygiene and grooming training to all food handlers and ensuring team follow the standards all the time at work and maintaining the records.
• Ensure to have food handler medical tests and record for all the food handlers on roll and contractual employees.
• Responsible to store 72 hours food samples system and do a random test from the approved lab.
• Responsible to do equipments swab test timely as per the schedule.
• Responsible to prepare all food preparations areas for internal and external audits.
• Ensure all food handlers employees trained and aware on food safety and personal safety as per the FSSAI guidelines.
• Ensures disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.

Qualification and Experience:

• A degree in Food Technology and Science from a recognized University
• 2 to 3 years of experience in hotels, restaurants, institutional catering or similar industry.
