Job description

The Floor Manager will be responsible for managing assigned hospital floor operations, patient services, staff coordination, and departmental workflow. This involves monitoring admissions, discharges, room readiness, patient concerns, cleanliness, and coordination with nursing, doctors, billing, housekeeping, and support departments. The candidate should have strong communication skills, service orientation, hospital operations knowledge, and the ability to ensure a smooth and patient-friendly floor experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and service coordination on the assigned hospital floor.
• Monitor patient admissions, discharges, transfers, room readiness, and floor-level workflow.
• Coordinate with nursing, doctors, billing, housekeeping, diagnostics, pharmacy, and maintenance teams.
• Address patient and attendant queries, concerns, and service requests in a timely manner.
• Conduct regular floor rounds to check cleanliness, patient comfort, staff availability, and service quality.
• Ensure patient rooms, nursing stations, corridors, and waiting areas are clean and well maintained.
• Support discharge coordination by following up with billing, pharmacy, nursing, and consultants.
• Maintain floor-level reports, patient feedback records, complaint logs, and operational trackers.
• Ensure hospital policies, safety standards, visitor rules, and service protocols are followed.
• Identify delays, service gaps, or coordination issues and resolve them proactively.
• Coordinate room shifting, bed management, attendant guidance, and patient support activities.
• Assist in emergency coordination and ensure required teams are informed immediately.
• Monitor housekeeping, pantry, security, and support staff performance on the assigned floor.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior operations or administration teams when needed.
• Promote patient satisfaction, smooth communication, and professional service delivery.
