Job summary

Gopalan Enterprises seeks an experienced Fire Fighting Works professional for our commercial construction projects in Bengaluru. You will plan, supervise, test, commission and handover fire-fighting systems in line with drawings, specifications and fire safety standards.

The role requires 8+ years of experience in fire-fighting works on large-scale buildings such as malls, IT parks or high-rises, with strong coordination with PMC, consultants and contractors.

Qualifications

• Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in fire-fighting works.
• Experience in commercial buildings, malls, IT parks, high-rise buildings or large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and execute complete fire-fighting works for commercial building projects.
• Coordinate installation of fire hydrant, sprinkler, pumps and related systems.
• Review approved shop drawings, design drawings and technical specs.
• Monitor contractors to ensure work follows drawings and schedules.
• Coordinate with PMC, consultants, architects and MEP teams.
• Check material specifications, quantities and quality of deliveries.
• Conduct inspections and ensure proper testing and commissioning.
• Prepare inspection requests, checklists and test reports.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve coordination clashes.
• Monitor project progress and timely completion of works.
• Verify contractor measurements and quantities.
• Assist in BOQ, material requirements and schedules.
• Ensure NBC and local fire department compliance.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals from authorities.
• Prepare as-built drawings and handover documents.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety and EHS requirements.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Fire Fighting Works professional with 8+ years of relevant experience in commercial construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for planning, execution, supervision, testing, commissioning and handover of fire-fighting systems while ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications and applicable fire safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and execute complete fire-fighting works for commercial building projects.
• Coordinate installation of fire hydrant, sprinkler, fire pumps and pump room, fire hose reel, wet riser/downcomer, fire
• water tanks and fire extinguishers.
• Review and coordinate approved shop drawings, design drawings and technical specifications.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure work follows approved drawings and project schedules.
• Coordinate with PMC, consultants, architects, MEP consultants and other project teams.
• Check material specifications, quantities and quality of materials delivered to site.
• Conduct inspections and ensure proper installation, testing and commissioning of fire-fighting systems.
• Monitor pressure testing, hydro testing, flushing and commissioning activities.
• Prepare inspection requests, checklists, test reports and site documentation.
• Identify technical discrepancies and coordination clashes and resolve them with concerned teams.
• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of fire-fighting works.
• Verify contractor measurements, quantities and work completion.
• Assist in BOQ, material requirements and work schedules.
• Ensure compliance with NBC, local fire department requirements and relevant fire safety standards.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals from relevant authorities/fire department wherever required.
• Prepare and review as-built drawings, testing & commissioning documents and handover documents.
• Ensure adherence to project quality, safety and EHS requirements.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of commercial building fire-fighting systems.
• Good understanding of fire hydrant, sprinkler, wet riser, pump room and fire water systems.
• Knowledge of fire pump installation and testing.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP/fire-fighting drawings.
• Knowledge of site execution, testing and commissioning.
• Understanding of BOQ, quantity verification and contractor billing.
• Knowledge of relevant fire safety codes and statutory requirements.
• Strong coordination skills with consultants, PMC, contractors and project teams.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office will be an advantage.

Qualification

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil / Electrical Engineering or relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in fire-fighting works.
• Experience in commercial buildings, malls, IT parks, high-rise buildings or large-scale construction projects will be preferred.
