Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting process.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing.
- Prepare and review P&L, balance sheet, cash-flow statements, and management reports.
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets.
- Monitor intercompany transactions and balances, where applicable.
- Establish and maintain a robust month-end and year-end closing process.
- Provide financial analysis and commentary on business performance.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve financial controls and accounting policies.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties and authorization controls.
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigating controls.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and delegated authority limits.
- Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across finance.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data.
3. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the annual budgeting and business-planning process.
- Prepare periodic forecasts and rolling financial projections.
- Track actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze significant variances and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support business leaders with financial modelling and scenario analysis.
4. Cash Flow & Working Capital
- Manage cash-flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
- Monitor receivables, payables, inventory, and overall working capital.
- Work closely with commercial and operations teams to improve cash conversion.
- Oversee collections and payment processes.
- Optimize working-capital requirements while maintaining appropriate supplier and customer relationships.
5. Statutory & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of statutory financial and tax requirements.
- Coordinate with tax advisors and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
- Oversee GST, TDS, corporate tax, and other applicable regulatory filings in India.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Companies Act requirements and accounting standards.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for regulatory and statutory purposes.
6. Audit Management
- Lead coordination with statutory, internal, tax, and other external auditors.
- Ensure audit schedules and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
- Address audit queries and drive timely closure of audit observations.
- Implement corrective actions arising from internal and external audits.
- Maintain strong relationships with auditors and external advisors.
7. Management & Business Support
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CFO and senior leadership.
- Develop dashboards and MIS reports covering key financial and operational metrics.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and business cases.
- Evaluate investment proposals, pricing decisions, cost structures, and profitability.
- Partner with business teams to identify cost-saving and revenue-enhancement opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Define responsibilities, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Build a high-performance and controls-oriented finance culture.
- Review team performance and identify training and development needs.
- Ensure adequate succession planning and knowledge transfer.
9. Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive effective use of ERP/accounting systems and finance technology.
- Identify opportunities for automation of reporting, reconciliations, payables, receivables, and other finance processes.
- Participate in ERP implementation, upgrades, and finance transformation initiatives.
- Improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and turnaround time.
- Timely and accurate month-end and year-end financial closure.
