Job summary

UBS is seeking a Financial Accountant to support regional cost controlling, maintain accurate financial records and deliver high-quality financial reporting and analysis. You will prepare accruals, prepayments and reclassifications, partner with Business Managers, and drive variance analysis for informed decision-making.

The role sits in a Cost Controlling team and requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2–3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting or finance operations.
• Good understanding of accounting concepts, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end activities.
• Ability to review financial data, identify variances and support reporting requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to work with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post cost-related accruals, prepayments and reclassification entries.
• Partner with Business Managers to understand financial inputs and provide accounting guidance.
• Prepare profit and loss and balance sheet analyses, providing clear variance commentary and insights.
• Perform reconciliations and support the GBSOV sign-off process to ensure accurate and complete financial records.
• Investigate and resolve accounting issues, action items and operational challenges in a timely manner.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting quality, controls and process efficiency.

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to support regional cost controlling, maintain accurate financial records and deliver high-quality financial reporting and analysis

• prepare and post cost-related accruals, prepayments and reclassification entries to support accurate financial reporting
• partner with Business Managers to understand financial inputs, resolve queries and provide accounting guidance
• prepare profit and loss and balance sheet analyses, providing clear variance commentary and insights
• perform reconciliations and support the GBSOV sign-off process to ensure accurate and complete financial records
• investigate and resolve accounting issues, action items and operational challenges in a timely manner
• identify opportunities to improve reporting quality, controls and process efficiency

The team

You’ll join the Cost Controlling team, which delivers regional cost controlling activities and maintains accurate financial records. As a Financial Accountant, you’ll help ensure accounting data is complete and reliable while partnering with Business Managers, CFO teams, Tax and other Finance stakeholders to support effective financial reporting and decision-making.

Your skills and experience

• bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting or finance operations
• good understanding of accounting concepts, journal entries, reconciliations and month-end activities
• ability to review financial data, identify variances and support reporting requirements
• good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
• familiarity with ERP systems and good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• real estate accounting experience would be an advantage
• well-organised and detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy, ownership, continuous learning and process improvement
