The role requires hands-on management of invoices, reconciliations, budgets, and MIS, with a focus on GST, TDS, and audits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a B.Com/Accounting or Finance degree.
• 5+ years with MBA (Finance) / M.Com / CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter).
• Experience in programme finance or project accounting preferred.
• Experience in education sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end financial operations for executive education programmes.
• Monitor budgets, revenues and expenditures.
• Track fee collections, refunds and receivables.
• Prepare programme-wise financial summaries and statements.
• Ensure GST, TDS and regulatory compliance.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Maintain books of accounts for programme transactions.
• Process invoices, receipts and journal entries.
• Conduct bank and ledger reconciliations.

Role Overview

The Finance & Accounts Specialist will anchor the financial operations of executive education programmes under Educational Outreach, IIT Bombay. The role requires hands‑on ownership of accounting, compliance, and financial reporting, along with close coordination with programme teams, participants, and the Institute's Finance & Accounts Office.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end financial operations across executive education programmes.

Monitor programme budgets, revenues, and expenditures.

Track fee collections, refunds, and outstanding receivables.

Prepare programme‑wise financial summaries and financial statements.

Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, and applicable statutory regulations.

Support internal and external audits.

Maintain complete documentation for compliance and audit readiness.

Maintain accurate books of accounts for all programme‑related transactions.

Process invoices, receipts, and journal entries.

Ensure proper allocation of revenues and costs.

Conduct regular bank and ledger reconciliations.

Billing & Financial Reporting

Raise invoices and coordinate with participants and corporate partners for collections.

Track outstanding payments and ensure timely follow‑up.

Prepare periodic MIS and financial reports for management.

Provide insights into programme financial performance.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Com / Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

OR

MBA (Finance) / M.Com / CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

CA / CMA (fully qualified)

Experience in programme finance or project accounting, preferably within the education sector
