Job summary

The Corporate Institute is seeking an experienced finance leader to own the end-to-end finance function for a growing FMCG consumer products business in Mumbai. The role combines controllership with Business Finance, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, working capital optimisation and strategic business partnering.

You will work closely with founders and business teams to drive profitability and growth.

Responsibilities

• Business Finance & Partnering: Partner with founders and business teams on financial and operational decisions.
• FP&A, Budgeting & MIS: Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning; develop MIS and reporting frameworks.
• Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Manage cash flows, liquidity planning and treasury operations.
• Accounting, Controllership & Compliance: Oversee accounting, taxation, statutory compliance and audits; establish SOPs.
• Manufacturing Finance: Oversee finance and accounting for in-house manufacturing operations; collaborate with operations to improve visibility into costs, margins and working capital.
• Systems & Process Improvement: Review and improve finance processes and reporting; support migration to scalable systems.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor and develop the finance team and ensure coordination with plant finance teams.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and commercially oriented finance leader to take end-to-end ownership of the finance function for a growing FMCG – consumer products business.

The role combines core financial controllership with Business Finance, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, working capital optimisation and strategic business partnering. The candidate will work closely with the founders and business teams to drive profitability, improve financial visibility and support business growth.

The ideal candidate should be hands‑on, comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, and capable of building robust financial processes while providing actionable insights for business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Finance & Business Partnering

• Partner with founders and business teams on financial and operational decisions.
• Analyse revenue, margins, costs and profitability to identify key business drivers.
• Track business performance against budgets and financial plans.
• Support decisions relating to pricing, cost optimisation, margins and working capital.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Strengthen collaboration between finance and business operations.

2. FP&A, Budgeting & MIS

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Develop and enhance MIS and management reporting frameworks.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
• Analyse revenue, costs, margins, profitability and working capital.
• Present actionable financial insights to founders and senior management.
• Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic decisions.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flows, liquidity planning and treasury operations.
• Oversee working capital and day-to-day funding requirements.
• Establish disciplined cash management and fund utilisation practices.
• Work with business teams to improve working capital efficiency.
• Support fundraising initiatives and related financial requirements.

4. Accounting, Controllership & Compliance

• Oversee accounting, taxation, statutory compliance and audits.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and accounting processes.
• Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) to support business growth.
• Ensure compliance with applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

5. Manufacturing Finance

• Oversee finance and accounting for in-house manufacturing operations.
• Ensure appropriate accounting and financial controls across contract manufacturing partners.
• Collaborate with operations teams to improve visibility into costs, margins and working capital.
• Monitor manufacturing costs and profitability.

6. Systems & Process Improvement

• Review and improve existing finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Strengthen financial controls and systems to support business expansion.
• Manage existing ERP processes and support migration to scalable systems where required.
• Ensure financial records, processes and documentation remain organised and audit-ready.

7. Team Management

• Lead, mentor and develop the existing finance team.
• Define responsibilities and establish accountability across the team.
• Set performance expectations and build team capabilities.
• Provide oversight to plant finance teams and ensure effective coordination.
