Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a seasoned Finance Leader for a large conglomerate in Pune. The role leads budgeting, planning, and financial control across multiple units, with responsibility for reporting, tax, treasury, and governance.

You will mentor a high-performance finance team and partner with key business functions on strategic decisions. The ideal candidate holds CA with MBA/CMA advantageous, 10+ years in Finance & Accounts, and experience across telecom, manufacturing, infra, or technology

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Drive monthly financial reporting, MIS, and variance analysis for leadership.
• Monitor profitability across units, products, projects, and regions; develop financial models.
• Oversee statutory filings, Ind AS compliance, and closing activities.
• Manage treasury, working capital, cash flow, and banking relationships.
• Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
• Partner with Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Projects on financials and pricing.

Job Description

Financial Planning & Business Control

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Drive monthly financial reporting, MIS, and variance analysis for business leadership.
• Monitor profitability across business units, products, projects, and regions.
• Develop financial models to support strategic business decisions and investments.
• Recommend cost optimisation initiatives to improve margins and operational efficiency.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Ensure timely preparation and finalisation of standalone and consolidated financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Companies Act, and other statutory requirements.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

• Oversee Direct and Indirect Tax compliance including GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Transfer Pricing (where applicable).
• Ensure timely filing of all statutory returns.
• Drive tax planning while ensuring complete regulatory compliance.

Treasury & Working Capital Management

• Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
• Optimise working capital through effective receivable, payable, and inventory management.
• Maintain banking relationships and oversee fund management.
• Monitor credit limits, borrowing, and financial risk.

Internal Controls & Governance

• Strengthen financial controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and delegated authority matrices.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and automation.

Commercial Finance

• Partner with Sales, Procurement, Operations, and Project teams on commercial decisions.
• Review pricing, project profitability, business cases, and contract financials.
• Monitor large project financial performance and revenue recognition.
• Support bid evaluation and commercial negotiations from a finance perspective.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team.
• Build a high-performance finance function focused on business partnership.
• Drive capability building and succession planning within the finance team.

The Successful Applicant

Desired Candidate Profile

Education

• Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory
• MBA (Finance) or CMA will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Finance and Accounts.
• Experience in Telecom, System Integration, Manufacturing, Infrastructure Projects, Engineering, or Technology businesses is preferred.
• Experience working in multi-business or multi-entity organisations will be an advantage.
