About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller to take end-to-end ownership of the company’s financial operations. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for the accuracy, control, and integrity of all financial processes — spanning receivables, payables, book‑keeping, budgeting, statutory compliance, and financial reporting — for a growing real estate development business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Control
- Own end-to-end control over Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring timely collections, vendor payments, and reconciliation.
- Oversee day‑to‑day book‑keeping and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded in line with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Establish and monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure process discipline across the finance function.
Budgeting & MIS
- Drive the annual budgeting process across projects and cost centers.
- Prepare and present monthly/quarterly Budget vs. Actual (BvA) analysis, highlighting variances and driving corrective action with project and business teams.
- Provide management with timely, accurate MIS reports to support business decision‑making.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely standalone and consolidated financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS).
- Ensure books are audit‑ready at all times and support month‑end/year‑end closing processes.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate and manage statutory, internal, and tax audits end-to-end, ensuring timely closure with minimal observations.
- Ensure full compliance with GST (including project‑specific real estate GST provisions) and TDS regulations — accurate computation, timely filing, and reconciliation.
- Stay current with regulatory changes affecting real estate accounting and tax compliance (RERA‑linked financial disclosures, related party transactions, etc.) and ensure the organization remains compliant.
Systems & Process
- Work within an ERP environment to manage financial data, reporting, and controls; drive process improvements and automation where possible.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams (project, sales, procurement) to ensure financial discipline is embedded in operational workflows.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team, building capability and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Liaise with external stakeholders — auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities — as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: 12–18 years of progressive experience in finance/accounts, with at least a few years in a controllership or senior finance leadership role. Real estate/construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Education: CA or CA Inter preferred; however, strong hands‑on experience in the areas above is mandatory.
- Strong working knowledge of an ERP environment (SAP/Oracle/Tally/other real estate ERP platforms).
- Sound expertise in AR/AP management, book‑keeping, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong command over GST and TDS regulations, including real estate‑specific provisions.
- Hands‑on experience managing statutory and internal audits.
- Proficient in budgeting, variance analysis, and MIS reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset.
- Ability to work closely with the CFO and senior leadership in a fast-growing, dynamic environment.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
What We Offer
- Opportunity to build and scale the finance function of a growing real estate development company.
- Direct exposure to leadership and strategic decision‑making.
- Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience.
