Job description

About the Team:

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner – Global Functions (Technology & Central Functions) to join the Castrol Finance team. This senior individual‑contributor role will help shape how Technology investments deliver business value, while ensuring Central Functions operate within a clear and disciplined financial framework. The role offers high visibility and the opportunity to work closely with senior Technology, Central Functions and Finance leaders during an important period of change and transformation.

As a trusted advisor, you will partner with Technology leadership to support strategic decision‑making, strengthen financial rigor, and ensure Technology spend is aligned with Castrol’s business priorities. You will translate complex financial information into clear, practical insight that supports both operational delivery and long‑term outcomes. In addition, you will support selected Global Functions, including Finance and PC&C, by providing accurate forecasting, reporting and governance over global recharge processes, including residual and royalty fees.

This role sits within the Castrol organization and forms part of the Castrol ring-fence. If applicable, it is expected that employment will transfer with Castrol to new ownership.

Key Tasks:

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the Castrol Technology leadership team, including the CTO, and to senior stakeholders across Central Functions.
  • Provide insight on financial performance, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and multi‑year planning for Technology and Central Functions.
  • Develop and review robust financial models, investment cases, and scenario analysis.
  • Monitor and govern Technology and Central Functions Opex, Capex and Revex, including infrastructure projects, product investment and other strategic initiatives.
  • Support cost transparency, optimization initiatives, and value‑for‑money discussions.
  • Deliver clear management reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to support data‑driven decisions.
  • Provide financial support to Technology & Central projects and portfolios, including ROI analysis and post‑investment reviews.
  • Review and sign off global recharge workings and schedules to support cash remittance to the UK from Castrol entities.

Experience required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Business Management (desirable), alongside a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong FP&A capability, including budgeting, forecasting, long‑range planning, scenario analysis, and advanced financial modelling.
  • Proven experience analyzing complex datasets and translating them into clear, actionable insights for both finance and non‑finance audiences.
  • Experience working with Technology function cost drivers and complex recharge mechanisms.
  • Advanced Excel expertise and strong capability with data and visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to build robust investment cases and business arguments with clear assumptions, risks and benefits.
  • Solid understanding of financial controls, risk management, accounting standards, and internal reporting requirements, with sound professional judgement balancing governance and commercial enablement.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and present effectively to senior Technology and business leaders.
  • A collaborative, inclusive approach with proven ability to build trusted relationships across finance, technology, procurement, and external partners.
  • Self-starter comfortable operating independently, leading cross‑functional initiatives without formal authority, and performing effectively in fast-paced, global, and evolving environments.
  • Experience of Technology functions and operating models is advantageous but not essential.
