Job summary

Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (VPG) is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to join the Finance team in Chennai. The role focuses on costing and budgeting, ERP cost control, and SOX-compliant finance processes for precision sensing technologies.

The incumbent will lead standard cost updates, COGS validation, inventory reconciliation, and capital expenditure tracking, collaborating with product and manufacturing teams to optimize cost structures.

Qualifications

• Commerce graduate with ICWA/CA
• 12+ years of costing, budgeting, accounting experience
• Knowledge of MFGpro and MS Office
• Experience with SOX controls and ERP costing processes

Responsibilities

• Update standard price in QAD as per budget parameters for items
• Reconcile sales revenue and COGs with major variance analysis
• Perform inventory movement reconciliation and cycle counts
• Review controls for SOX compliance and cost controls
• Prepare accurate costing for relocation and R&D models
• Manage inventory obsolescence and transfer price adjustments quarterly
• Validate standard vs actual costs in ERP for accuracy
• Calculate cost of goods sold and budget workings by BoM
• Analyze top variances and ensure accurate transfer pricing
• Ensure TM1 vs QAD matching and major income statement variance analysis
• Track capital expenditures

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Cost Analyst to join our Finance team on a full-time basis:

Major Responsibilities

• Ensure the standard price update in QAD with proper calculation for Purchase or Manufacturer item number as per budget parameters.
• Sales Reconciliation including Revenue Recognition along with respective COG’s reconciliation including major variance
• Inventory movement and reconciliation along with physical count March & December including cycle count process.
• Review the controls required for SOX compliance.
• To prepare accurate costing for the new relocation & R&D models
• Inventory obsolescence, Locom, Inventory revaluation impact and Transfer Price adjustment quarterly.
• To review the Standard Cost and Actual Costs for any inaccuracies in ERP system
• To validate the cost of goods sold
• Preparing accurate budget workings based on Bill of Materials for individual product and to analyze for the Top variances, ensuring Transfer Price for each product is very accurate
• Ensuring Tm1 vs QAD are perfectly matching including analysis major variance of Income statement.
• Capital expenditure tracking.

Requirements

Academic/Professional Education: Commerce Graduate with qualified ICWA / CA

Relevant Experience: 12 + years’ experience in Costing, Budgeting, Accounting

Technical Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge in MFGpro & MS office
