Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Chennai seeks a field service engineer to provide on-site technical interventions, including installation, training, repair and maintenance of medical machinery at client sites.

You will engage customers, collaborate with sales teams, manage spare parts inventory and billing, and document all activities in CRM and Field Service Reports. You will mentor junior engineers and support preventive maintenance planning, with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in on-site service, installation, training, repair and maintenance of machinery.
• Ability to build strong customer relationships and deliver technical support.
• Familiarity with service contracts, spare parts sales, and invoicing processes.
• Proficient in documenting activities and data entry in CRM/FSR systems.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and assist area managers in preventive maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical interventions including installation, training, repair, and maintenance of machinery at client sites.

• Oversee inventory of spare parts and tools; maintain adequate stock levels.
• Execute technical tasks assigned by team leadership in a timely and efficient manner.
• Use Field Service Reports and CRM for accurate data entry and records.
• Document all activities thoroughly in reports and prescribed records.
• Mentor junior engineers through escalation support and relationship building.
• Support Area Technical Manager in preventive maintenance cadence and timely installations.
• Assist other Area Technical Manager locations when dynamic resource allocation is required.

• Engage with customers to deliver necessary technical support, fostering strong and positive customer relationships.
• Collaborate with the sales and dealer teams by sharing technical insights and support to enhance sales opportunities and business growth.
• Complete required technical training and assessments to continually enhance technical proficiency and deliver high-quality service to clients.
• Achieve service targets by negotiating and securing Service Contracts and spare part sales, while managing billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable related to routine service activities.
• Oversee personal inventory, including spare parts and tools, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper management.
• Execute technical tasks assigned by team leadership in a timely and efficient manner.
• Utilize technical management systems effectively to ensure accurate and complete data entry.
• Document all technical activities thoroughly in Field Service Reports, CRM software, and other prescribed administrative records.
• Mentor junior engineers through technical escalation support and customer relationship building.
• Aid and support your Area Technical Manager in managing the cadence of Preventive Maintenance and timely installations.
• Support other Area Technical Manager locations when Dynamic Resource Allocation is required and requested by your manager.
