Job summary

Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd. is seeking a Biomass Procurement professional in Assam to source biomass directly from farmers, oversee weighbridge operations for accurate measurements, and coordinate transport from farms to collection points or the plant.

The role includes raw material collection as directed by senior management, plus daily reporting on procurement and logistics. Build strong farmer relationships and ensure adherence to local regulations and PRESPL standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in biomass procurement or agricultural supply chains is advantageous.
• Ability to engage with farmers and coordinate logistics.
• Strong reporting and field coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify farmers in the region and assist managers in pitching biomass procurement opportunities.
• Follow up with farmers during harvest season, assisting with biomass collection and storage.
• Ensure proper use of bailers and that they are returned in good condition.
• Coordinate transportation with local providers to move biomass to collection yards or storage areas.
• Ensure biomass procured meets PRESPL quality standards.
• Provide daily reports on procurement activities, transportation status, and issues related to quality or logistics.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers for ongoing cooperation.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with local regulations and company guidelines.

Job description

Basic Function:

• Biomass Procurement: Responsible for sourcing and procuring biomass directly from farmers within the assigned districts.
• Weighbridge Operations: Oversee weighbridge operations to ensure accurate weighing of biomass during procurement.
• Vehicle and Logistics Monitoring: Coordinate vehicle arrangements for transporting biomass from farms to collection points or the plant.
• Raw Material Collection: Collect raw materials in accordance with directions provided by senior management and supervisors.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs):

• Farmer Identification and Engagement: Identify potential farmers in the region and assist the Field Manager and Assistant Manager in pitching biomass procurement opportunities to them.
• Harvest Season Support: Actively follow up with farmers during the harvest season, offering assistance with biomass collection and storage.
• Equipment Management: Ensure the proper use of bailers provided to farmers and confirm that they are returned in good condition.
• Transportation Coordination: Liaise with local transportation providers to ensure timely and efficient transportation of biomass from farms to designated collection yards or storage areas.
• Quality Control: Ensure that the biomass procured meets the procurement quality standards set by the company (PRESPL).
• Daily Reporting: Provide daily reports on procurement activities, transportation status, and any issues related to the quality or logistics of biomass.
• Farmer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers to ensure continued cooperation and successful biomass collection.
• Local Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities are in line with local regulations and any company-specific guidelines.
