Job summary

Expleo Group in Bengaluru is seeking a highly motivated Finite Element Engineer to join our Aerospace Structures team. You will develop and validate FE models for aircraft components, support stress analysis, certification activities, and structural optimization using industry-leading CAE tools.

The role offers exposure to global aerospace programs, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and opportunities to advance CAE workflows, automate processes, and contribute to design validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify Finite Element Models (GFEM and DFEM) for aerospace structures.
  • Perform structural idealization of metallic and composite aircraft components.
  • Create high-quality 1D, 2D, and 3D meshes using HyperMesh.
  • Prepare, modify, and manage Nastran input decks for structural analysis.
  • Execute Nastran analyses and troubleshoot solver-related issues.
  • Perform FE model validation and quality checks.
  • Post-process analysis results using HyperView, Patran, or equivalent tools.
  • Interpret stress analysis results and prepare technical reports and engineering presentations.
  • Support certification and design validation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver projects within quality and schedule targets.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, automation, and process standardization.

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated Finite Element (FE) Engineer to join our Aerospace Structures team. The candidate will be responsible for developing and validating finite element models for aircraft structural components, supporting stress analysis, certification activities, and structural optimization. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on global aerospace programs using industry-leading CAE tools and methodologies.

Qualifications

Essential Skills
  • Good understanding of aerospace structures and structural load paths.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structural components and their functions.
  • Expertise in Finite Element meshing (1D, 2D, and 3D) using HyperMesh.
  • Experience in structural idealization for both GFEM and DFEM models.
  • Hands‑on experience in preparing and modifying Nastran input decks.
  • Experience in submitting, monitoring, and debugging Nastran runs.
  • Strong knowledge of FE result post-processing and interpretation.
  • Experience in FE model validation and quality assessment.
  • Ability to prepare technical stress reports and present engineering results effectively.Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of Excel VBA/Macros.
  • Experience with Tcl/Tk scripting.Knowledge of PCL tools.
  • Python scripting for engineering automation.
  • Experience with OptiStruct solver.
  • Exposure to FEMAP.
  • Basic knowledge of CATIA V5.
  • Basic knowledge of AIRENA.
  • Experience in automation of CAE workflows will be an added advantage.
