Qualifications

• 8–10 years of factory and shop-floor management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shop-floor activities and coordinate with Sub-Contractors to meet timelines.

• Make staffing and scheduling decisions for production.
• Maintain records of materials handed over to Sub-Contractors.
• Ensure a safe workplace and compliance with health, safety standards.
• Prepare monthly management reports and improve factory performance.
• Coordinate with government agencies for licenses and statutory certificates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : Factory Manager

Reports To : HOD Projects

Summary

Lead and manage all factory operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while meeting quality, delivery, and continuous improvement targets. Drive people leadership, operational excellence, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shop-floor activities and co-ordinate with Sub-Contractors for ensuring progress of work as per completion timeline.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, QC Engineers, Purchase, and Stores Team to plan fabrication and assembly works, ensuring alignment with project goals and schedules.
• Make decisions related to production, such as staffing and scheduling decisions.
• Maintain proper record of free-issue materials handed-over to Sub-Contractors.
• Maintain a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.
• Responsible and accountable for shop organization, cleanliness, and quality.
• Scheduling the maintenance of building and equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit monthly report for management review.
• Provide leadership and direction to improve overall factory performance.
• Co-ordinating / laisoning with the various government agencies to obtain different licenses / statutory certificates, including renewal of factory license under Factories Act.

Requirements

• Good educational background, preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with minimum 8-10 years of related work experience managing factory & shop-floor.
• Well versed with engineering and construction drawings.
• Working knowledge of safety management information system.
• Familiar with compliance to OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.
• Hands-on experience in project execution, shop-floor/assembly operations, fabrication, and sub-contractor management.
• Preferred understanding of water treatment processes and technologies.
• Knowledge of quality, statutory, regulatory, and legal compliance.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project timelines
• Proficiency in MS Office with good written and verbal English communication skills.
