We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Factory Manager to lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing operations at SRL’s production facility in Turbhe Navi Mumbai. The role will be responsible for production planning, manpower and resource management, plant operations, quality and safety compliance, equipment performance, inventory control, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing, with proven leadership skills and a strong understanding of GMP, EHS, quality systems, production planning, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsiblities
- Production Management: Plan, schedule, and monitor production activities to achieve targets while maintaining quality, safety, and delivery timelines.
- Plant Operations: Oversee daily factory operations and ensure smooth and efficient utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop production and factory teams while promoting accountability, discipline, and operational excellence.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, GMP practices, safety requirements, regulatory guidelines, and company policies.
- Production Planning: Coordinate production plans based on business requirements, capacity, material availability, and delivery schedules.
- Equipment & Maintenance: Monitor equipment performance, coordinate with maintenance teams, and minimize breakdowns and production downtime.
- Inventory Management: Ensure effective management and availability of raw materials, packaging materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Cost & Productivity: Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce operational costs, minimize wastage, and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Quality, R&D, Stores, Purchase, Maintenance, Supply Chain, EHS, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Performance Monitoring: Track key production and operational KPIs, analyze performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives related to process improvement, operational efficiency, productivity enhancement, and reduction of downtime and wastage.
- Safety & Workplace Standards: Ensure a safe working environment and strict compliance with plant safety procedures and statutory requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Management, or a related field.
- 20+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing/plant operations, preferably in the chemical, pharmaceutical, specialty chemicals, or related industry.
- Proven experience in Factory Management, Production Management, Plant Operations, and Production Planning.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, EHS/safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in managing and leading large factory/production teams.
- Strong understanding of production processes, equipment, maintenance coordination, and resource planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
