Job summary

Biopharma Careers in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned production operations leader to guide construction, commissioning, qualification, and validation of a chemical plant. You will coordinate with engineering team, site experts, tech transfer, and supply chain planning.

You will drive improvements in process performance, equipment efficiency, cycle times, yields, waste reduction, energy use, and quality using systematic methods like Six Sigma and TPM, while ensuring EHS compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, mechanical,Instrumentation, electrical or process engineering; MBA preferred.
• 10–12 years of production management experience in pharmaceutical/chemical industry with GMP exposure.
• Familiar with EHS regulations and compliance in India’s pharma/chemical sector.
• Extensive experience with continuous improvement (Six Sigma DMAIC/TPM) and ISO 9001.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Participate in construction, commissioning, installation qualification, and operational qualification of chemical plant with the engineering team.
• Lead performance qualification and process validation with site experts, tech transfer and supply chain planning support.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements and obtain necessary permits in time.
• Drive continuous improvement in process performance including equipment, cycle times, yields, downtime, raw material efficiency, waste, energy, and quality.
• Manage ramp up of production following the supply chain planning.
• Participate in regular supply review meetings and mitigate risks to supply.
• Invest in learning and development to enhance employees’ skill levels.
• Troubleshoot reactors, ion exchange columns, distillation assemblies; perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain equipment/utilities and water treatment plant in the area.

Job description

Your Role:

Participate the construction, commissioning, installation qualification, operational qualification of chemical plant with the engineering team. Lead the performance qualification and process validation with the support from giving site experts, tech transfer team and supply chain production planning.

Assure compliance to all company and Indian authorities EHS requirements, regulations, and acquire necessary permits in time with support from relevant department. Continuously improve plant effectiveness in EHS by providing clear and visible leadership as consistent with the philosophy that every incident is preventable.

Lead the continuous improvement projects for all aspects of process performance including production equipment, cycle times, yields, downtime, raw material efficiency, waste generation, energy efficiency, and quality by following a systematic methodology e.g. Lean -six sigma.

Manage the ramp up of production following the supply chain production planning

Participate in the regular supply review meeting, identify and communicate when problems or potential risks to supply arise and take appropriate counter measures.

Continually enhances the skill level of employees by investing in the learning and development of the organization's employees.

Good Technical knowledge of chemicals with troubleshooting of Reactors, Ion exchange columns, Distillation assemblies with proper root cause analysis.

Self sufficient to take care of Maintenance of machinery /utilities and running water treatment plant pertaining to his area .

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering/ mechanical /Instrumentation /Electrical / Process Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in production management within a pharmaceutical, chemical, or related industry. Familiar with GMP.

Familiarity with EHS regulations and compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical/Chemical industry, particularly in India.

Extensive experience with continuous improvement projects, particularly in process performance optimization using Six Sigma (DMAIC)/TPM or similar methodologies & Knowledge of ISO 9001 system.

Self Sufficient to take care of Maintenance of equipment’s /utilities in respective area.

Strong leadership skills with a focus on enhancing team performance and engagement.

Strong interpersonal skills to connect with various stakeholders, including production teams, site experts, and supply chain personnel.

Fluent in English, both written and oral.
