Job summary

Sahni Fabs is seeking a Fabric Development & Sourcing Executive to expand the fabric range for retail and B2B customers. The role focuses on identifying new fabrics, product development, and supplier collaboration across major textile hubs.

Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience, strong fabric knowledge, and CAD qualification. Travel to supplier locations and markets may be required to ensure quality and commercial viability.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fabrics and textiles.
• Good understanding of woven, knitted, denim, jacquard, cotton, linen, viscose, modal, polyester, silk.
• CAD qualified.

Responsibilities

• Source and develop new and trending fabrics based on market demand and customer requirements.
• Identify and build relationships with fabric manufacturers, mills, suppliers, and vendors across textile hubs.
• Coordinate with suppliers for samples, swatches, lab dips, colour matching, quality approvals and bulk requirements.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Maintain a database of suppliers, fabrics, prices, specifications and samples.
• Work with sales and e-commerce teams to identify gaps in product range and develop new collections.
• Visit textile markets, exhibitions, mills and manufacturing units when required.
• Monitor competitor products and market offerings to identify new sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure consistency in fabric quality and specifications before bulk procurement.

About the Role

Sahni Fabs is looking for a Fabric Development & Sourcing Executive with strong knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and the Indian textile market. The person will be responsible for identifying new fabrics, developing products, sourcing from manufacturers and suppliers, and expanding our fabric range for both retail and B2B/wholesale customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and develop new and trending fabrics based on market demand and customer requirements.
• Identify and build relationships with fabric manufacturers, mills, suppliers, and vendors across textile hubs such as Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Panipat, etc.
• Have strong knowledge of different fabric types, compositions, constructions, finishes, GSM, width, dyeing, printing, and processing.
• Research market trends, new textile developments, colours, textures, and fabric innovations.
• Source and evaluate fabrics based on quality, price, availability, MOQ, lead time, and commercial viability.
• Coordinate with suppliers for samples, swatches, lab dips, colour matching, quality approvals, and bulk requirements.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Maintain a database of suppliers, fabrics, prices, specifications, and samples.
• Work closely with the sales and e-commerce teams to identify gaps in the existing product range and develop new collections.
• Visit textile markets, exhibitions, mills, and manufacturing units when required.
• Monitor competitor products and market offerings to identify new sourcing opportunities.
• Ensure consistency in fabric quality and specifications before bulk procurement.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fabrics and textiles is mandatory.
• Good understanding of woven, knitted, denim, jacquard, cotton, linen, viscose, modal, polyester, silk, RFD, greige and other textile fabrics.
• Candidate should be CAD qualified.
• Knowledge of fabric manufacturing, dyeing, printing, finishing and processing will be an advantage.
• Good understanding of fabric quality parameters and testing.
• Strong supplier/vendor network in the textile industry will be preferred.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to identify good-quality fabrics and commercially viable products.
• Willingness to travel to textile markets and supplier locations when required.
• Graduate/Diploma in Textile, Fashion, Apparel or related field preferred.
