Job summary

EY India FAAS team seeks professionals responsible for timeliness and quality of work per project requirements with strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.

The role includes managing engagement delivery for GAAP conversions, preparing SEC filings along with disclosures, and coordinating with external auditors and internal teams. Requires 2–5 years of relevant experience and professional qualifications (CA/ACCA/CPA).

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, UK GAAP etc.
• Experience in financial statement preparation and consolidation, GAAP conversions, and drafting accounting policies.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in managing engagement delivery for Financial Accounting and Reporting and GAAP conversions.
• Support SEC Form 10-Q/K filings of non-accelerated filers with audited statements and disclosures.
• Prepare and analyze reporting data for disclosures in 10-K/Q and subsidiary statements.
• Advise on accounting changes (IFRS adoption, revenue recognition) and policy manuals.
• Coordinate with UK-based and other country teams and external auditors.
• Review team work and monitor engagement status to ensure timely delivery.

Job description

The Opportunity

Were looking for incumbents who is responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per Project requirements for our FAAS team and possess strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge. The role requires prior experience and knowledge of financial reporting activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in Managing engagement delivery Financial Accounting and Reporting and GAAP conversions.
• Supporting the SEC Form 10-Q/K filings of the non-accelerated filers including the audited financial statements, analysis, and disclosures, including collaboration with various external auditors and several internal support teams.
• Preparation and analysis of reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in 10-K/Q and subsidiary financial statements
• Assistance in providing advice and assisting client team in accounting change (First time IFRS adoption, revenue recognition), accounting policy manuals and technical accounting memorandums
• Understanding of the reporting requirements relevant to the countries allocated (specific focus on UK based companies), as allocated to your team
• Receive direction from the Manager and Senior Manager
• Maintain effective coordination with multiple stakeholders. Be compatible with business accounting teams and internal partners to resolve issues
• Detailed review of the work performed by the team members
• Review of metrics reporting for significant processes
• Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of engagement status
• Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports
• Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situation

Skills and attributes for success

• Expert knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, UK GAAP etc
• Extensive experience in the following areas
  • Financial statement preparation and consolidation process
  • GAAP conversions and adoption of new accounting standards
  • Drafting accounting policies and writing technical memorandums
• Technical accounting advisory on complex topics (e.g. business combinations, consolidation, debt/equity etc.)

To qualify for the role, you must have

• CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA
• 2-5 years relevant experience
