Job summary

EY’s Global Delivery Services in India seeks a qualified FAAS professional to ensure timely financial accounting, reporting and GAAP conversions for UK-based clients. You will collaborate with external auditors and internal teams to provide high-quality disclosures and insights.

You’ll apply IFRS/US GAAP knowledge, draft accounting policies, and support complex topics while coordinating with managers and cross-functional partners in a fast-paced, globally connected environment.

Qualifications

• CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA is required.
• 2-5 years relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of IFRS/US GAAP and UK GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Manage engagement delivery for Financial Accounting and Reporting including GAAP conversions.
• Support SEC Form 10-Q/K filings with auditors and internal teams.
• Prepare and analyze reporting data for 10-K/Q and subsidiary statements.
• Advise on accounting changes (IFRS adoption, revenue recognition) and policies.
• Understand reporting requirements for UK-based clients.
• Direct daily fieldwork progress and communicate status to Supervisors.
• Review team work and key metrics reporting.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for incumbents who is responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per Project requirements for our FAAS team and possess strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge. The role requires prior experience and knowledge of financial reporting activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in Managing engagement delivery Financial Accounting and Reporting and GAAP conversions.
• Supporting the SEC Form 10-Q/K filings of the non-accelerated filers including the audited financial statements, analysis, and disclosures, including collaboration with various external auditors and several internal support teams.
• Preparation and analysis of reporting data in support of disclosures for inclusion in 10-K/Q and subsidiary financial statements
• Assistance in providing advice and assisting client team in accounting change (First time IFRS adoption, revenue recognition), accounting policy manuals and technical accounting memorandums
• Understanding of the reporting requirements relevant to the countries allocated (specific focus on UK based companies), as allocated to your team
• Receive direction from the Manager and Senior Manager
• Maintain effective coordination with multiple stakeholders. Be compatible with business accounting teams and internal partners to resolve issues
• Detailed review of the work performed by the team members
• Review of metrics reporting for significant processes
• Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of engagement status
• Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports
• Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situation

Skills and attributes for success

• Expert knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP, UK GAAP etc
• Extensive experience in the following areas
  • Financial statement preparation and consolidation process
  • GAAP conversions and adoption of new accounting standards
  • Drafting accounting policies and writing technical memorandums
• Technical accounting advisory on complex topics (e.g. business combinations, consolidation, debt/equity etc.)

To qualify for the role, you must have

• CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA
• 2-5 years relevant experience
