Michelin is seeking an External Geometry Developer to define the external geometry of tires and integrate performance constraints with mold manufacturing considerations. You will create, update, and document CAD models that comply with tire specs, regulations, and standardization requirements.
The role emphasizes master model creation, performance estimation, and continuous improvement of methods to enhance accuracy and efficiency in design processes.
MISSION :
1. Provide definitions of the external geometry of the tire (contact area between the tire and the curing mold)
2. Integrate both tire performance constraints and industrial constraints (mold manufacturing and usage)
0–5 years of experience in CAD design, mechanical design, automotive, tire, or related engineering domains.
Hands-on experience with CATIA V5/V6.
CAD Models and nomenclature of the external geometry of the tire (tread and/or marking) that meet the tire specifications, as well as norms and regulations.
These models integrate mold manufacturing /utilization, cost and standardization constraints:
Estimate Performance for the design team using the CAD performance simulation models.
Build Parametric CAD models (master models) and associated documentation, used for the declinaison of a series of dimension or the representation performance area (sculpture or marking).
Evolution of Methods and / or tools that improve quality or efficiency of the metier.
Animation of Processes, tools and methods training sessions.
