Job summary

Venwiz is seeking an Expediting Electrical Engineer in Kolkata to oversee expediting of electrical and mechanical fabrication, monitor BOMs, and drive procurement actions. You will coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to keep projects on schedule.

The role requires 6–7 years of experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office for planning and reporting. On-site work in Kolkata is expected.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 6–7 years of experience in expediting electrical, mechanical and fabrication work.
• Knowledge of electrical testing, FAT and structural fabrication.
• Strong vendor management and progress-tracking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Visit vendor units to expedit e manufacturing and dispatches.
• Understand BOMs, check availability, and drive procurement actions.
• Monitor resource planning at site and coordinate with client/contractor.
• Track program progress, troubleshoot site issues, and flag delays with preventive actions.
• Ensure fabrication sequencing, inspections, QA/QC and on-time dispatches.

Expediting Electrical Engineer

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (B.E / B.Tech).
• 6 to 7 years of experience of handling Electrical, Mechanical, Structural fabrication for components manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Electrical testing / FAT / Mechanical Fabrication of structural steel Structures.
• Ability to forecast the delays at vendors manufacturing units, procurement actions and prepare control plans for mitigation of delay.
• Ability to estimate the resources required for the work.
• Strong analytical skills and hands- on experience on planning of manufacturing of equipment in a plant.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, navigate AutoCAD.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Quality and Safety standards followed in Industrial Constructions.
• Familiarity with codes & standards(IS, ASME, BS, EN, IEC).
• Knowledge of NDT Methods, Electrical testing works
• Strong communication, negotiation, and vendor management abilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Visits to the vendor manufacturing units for expediting the manufacturing of Electrical components and dispatches, monitoring the progress of works.
• Understanding the BOM of the manufacturing components and checking for availability and expediting the procurement actions.
• Monitoring resource planning at site.
• Controller between Client and Contractor for raising the issues on both ends.
• Program implementation and progress tracking at site.
• Trouble shooting the Site issues and highlighting the delays to clients with preventive measures and pro-active actions.
• Follow-ups with client contractor Vendor Manager / Owner during delays if any are encountered during execution.
• Monitor Procurement schedules of the Contractor and Supplier commitments.
• Ensure the fabrication sequence and inspections are carried out in time.
• QA/QC checks are performed on a routine basis and dispatches are aligned.
