Job summary

SGS India is seeking an Expeditor with a strong mechanical background to support post-order expediting through delivery, coordinating with client representatives, and ensuring on-time milestone achievement across engineering, procurement, fabrication and testing.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience in desk expediting, pipe inspection, pressure vessels and valves, with exposure to coordination with construction and project teams.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical or DME in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in expediting and related inspection.
• Experience with pressure vessels, piping, fittings and valves.
• Exposure to desk expediting and coordination with construction teams.

Responsibilities

• Post order desk expediting till delivery of material.
• Coordinate with client representatives on site for close collaboration.
• Obtain production and milestone schedule from engineering, procurement, fabrication and testing to final delivery.
• Monitor submission of engineering deliverables by SELLER per PO terms.
• Expedite with DEC for review/approval within the PO time frame.
• Expedite final documentation including operating manuals and as-built drawings as per PO/VDR.
• Identify critical items for expediting with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, QA, logistics).
• Be aware of fabrication stages for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipes, fittings and valves.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Post order desk expediting till delivery of material.

2. Expeditor will be deputed in clients office on continuous basis for close coordination with clients representative.

3. The Expeditor shall obtain a production and /or manufacturing milestone schedule detailing all SELLERs activities from engineering, procurement, fabrication and testing through to final delivery in accordance with the agreed Purchase Order delivery dates.

4. Expeditor shall monitor and expedite the Submission of Engineering Deliverables by SELLER as per the schedule agreed in the VDR / PO Terms & Conditions.

5. Expedite with DEC(Detail Engineering Consultant) for Review / Approval of Engineering Deliverables within the time frame agreed in the PURCHASE ORDER.

6. EXPEDITOR shall expedite with SELLER for submission of Final documentation including operating manuals, As Built drawings etc. (as per the requirement specified in the PO / VDR).

7. Working jointly with Construction, Engineering, Project Controls, Purchasing, Supplier Quality and Traffic and Logistics, the Expeditor shall identify critical items that require area expediting assignments.

8. Expeditor should be aware of manufacturing/fabrication stages of Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pipes, fittings, valves etc.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification :BE Mech / DME in Mech Engg

Experience:7+ years.
