Job summary

MAN TRUCK & BUS INDIA PVT. LTD is seeking a diligent Procurement professional to secure prototype materials, issue RFQs, and negotiate costs within project budgets. You will monitor supplier delivery schedules and collaborate with R&D to assure quality of prototypes.

The role also supports cross-functional sourcing managers in compiling RFQs, consolidating inputs, and preparing supplier nominations to ensure timely project execution across automotive manufacturing domains.

Qualifications

• Formal education in engineering or supply chain disciplines with relevant credentials.
• Experience in purchasing, sourcing, procurement, or supplier management in automotive/manufacturing sectors.
• Knowledge of ERP/procurement systems and MS Excel for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Procure prototype materials, issue RFQs, and negotiate costs within budgets.
• Ensure timely delivery and monitor supplier schedules to avoid delays.

Job description

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automobile Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.

1. Prototype Procurement & Management

• You will be responsible for securing prototype materials for our development projects. This includes:
• Issuing Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and negotiating with suppliers to achieve optimal costs while adhering to project budgets.
• Independently ensuring timely material delivery in accordance with project deadlines and test plans; this includes actively monitoring supplier delivery schedules to anticipate and prevent delays.
• Ensuring the quality of ordered prototypes and collaborating with R&D to manage and prevent quality deviations.
• Executing administrative workflows, including updating price lists, placing orders, and managing invoices.

2. Project & Commodity Sourcing Support

• A key component of this role is supporting our Project & Commodity Sourcing Managers within our cross-functional serial material purchasing process. This includes:
• Participating in cross-functional meetings and collaborative alignment activities.
• Preparing and issuing RFQs, ensuring supplier quotes are received before deadlines, and compiling/analyzing the incoming data.
• Gathering and consolidating inputs from all relevant cross-functional stakeholders to support supplier nomination decisions.

• 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or supplier management within automotive, manufacturing, engineering industries or International procurement (Global sourcing).
• Experience in handling suppliers from Europe, Latin America, China etc.
• Knowledge of procurement systems, ERP tools, supplier quality processes, Microsoft Office, especially Excel and engineering change management will be an added advantage.
