Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager Purchase is responsible for planning and executing procurement activities for solar manufacturing operations. The role ensures the timely availability of components, consumables, and services at the optimum cost while meeting quality, delivery, and compliance requirements. The position also focuses on vendor development, cost optimization, inventory control, and supply chain continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure components required for solar module manufacturing like EEI / Mechanical Spares and Admin Material.
• Convert Regular procured component in annual rate contract.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, stores, and finance teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Source new suppliers, evaluate vendor capabilities, and develop strategic supplier partnerships.
• Obtain quotations, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts.
• Issue purchase orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure timely deliveries.
• Follow up on imports, logistics, customs documentation, and shipment schedules where applicable.
• Work closely with the user team to resolve supplier quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities, value engineering initiatives, and alternate sourcing options.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, statutory requirements, and ESG/sustainability expectations.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, vendor master data, contracts, and ERP transactions.
• Prepare procurement MIS reports, supplier scorecards, and cost analysis for management review.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and procurement planning.
