Job summary

Tataconsumer in Theni, Tamil Nadu, is seeking a Production Engineer/Officer to drive daily and monthly production targets, improve yields, and minimize waste through strong process control. You will support line efficiency, ensure SOPs, GMP, HACCP, ISO standards are followed, and participate in continuous improvement projects.

The role requires 3–5 years of manufacturing experience in Food & Beverage or process industries and a BE/B.Tech or Diploma in engineering.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Food Technology or related engineering disciplines.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations and process control.
• Knowledge of SCADA and PLC operation.
• Knowledge of sublimation and dryer operation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure achievement of daily and monthly production targets as per plan.

Job Description

What are the Key Deliverables in this role?

• Ensure achievement of daily & monthly production targets as per plan
• Ensure to achieve the targeted Yield.
• Minimize process losses, material wastage, and rework through effective process control.
• Support line efficiency improvement initiatives and monitor production yields.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and utilities.
• Maintain production records and reports accurately to support operational reviews.
• Support cost reduction initiatives through continuous improvement projects.

Customer Service

• Ensure to produce the First Time Right product
• Ensure production activities meet customer quality and delivery requirements.
• Maintain product consistency and compliance with QA approved specifications.
• Support in timely production as per schedules.
• DO Corrective & Preventive action for all non-conformities.

Internal Processes

• Operate and monitor production processes as per all the SOPs, GMP, HACCP, BRC & ISO standards safety requirements.
• Conduct routine process checks and ensure adherence to process parameters.
• Coordinate with Maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
• Ensure cleanliness, housekeeping, and hygiene standards across the production area.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities promptly.
• Ensure accurate documentation of production data, process deviations, and shift reports.
• Participate in audits and support compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
• Follow EHS standards and promote a safe working environment

Innovation and Learning

• Support trials and new product introductions.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities.
• Attend and support technical, quality, and safety training programs.
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives related to waste reduction, water conservation, and energy efficiency.

What are the Critical success factors for the Role?

Educational Qualification

• BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Food Technology, or related Engineering disciplines.

Experience

• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in Food & Beverage, FMCG, or Process Industries.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations and process control.
• Knowledge in SCADA & PLC operation
• Knowledge in Sublimation process & Dryer operation
