Job summary

Ashirvad by aliaxis in Hyderabad, India, is seeking a Printing Operations Technician for high-volume pipe printing. The role covers operation and monitoring of inkjet/laser/hot foil printing, ensuring correct product markings, and maintaining print quality records. You will coordinate with extrusion teams, support changeovers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a lean manufacturing environment. The position requires 3-5 years of experience and a diploma/B.Tech.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in printing operations.
• Industrial Inkjet Printer Operation and related processes.
• Coding & Marking Systems familiarity.
• PVC Pipe Manufacturing Process Knowledge.
• Print Quality Inspection standards and BIS requirements.
• Preventive maintenance knowledge.
• Troubleshooting of Printing Equipment.
• Consumable Management understanding.
• MS Office & ERP Systems usage in production.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor online pipe printing systems (Inkjet/Laser/Hot Foil printers).
• Ensure correct printing of product specifications, batch numbers, size, pressure rating, IS codes, date, time, and customer-specific requirements.
• Verify print legibility, alignment, spacing, and permanence on pipes.
• Coordinate with Extrusion Operators and Shift Supervisors for changeovers.
• Ensure printing details are updated according to production schedules.
• Support smooth startup and shutdown activities of printing systems.
• Minimize production stoppages due to printer-related issues.
• Conduct regular checks for print quality and compliance with BIS/customer requirements.
• Maintain printing quality records and inspection reports.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printers and print heads.
• Monitor ink levels, solvents, ribbons, cartridges, and spare parts.
• Troubleshoot printer faults and coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdown support.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
• Control inventory of inks, solvents, ribbons, cleaning agents, and spare parts.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of consumables.
• Reduce ink wastage and optimize consumable consumption.
• Maintain shift-wise printing logs and equipment records.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Support audits related to production traceability and product identification.
• Identify opportunities to improve print quality and reduce rejections.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives related to printing consumables.
• Participate in Kaizen, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S activities.

Roles And Responsibility

Printing Operations

• Operate and monitor online pipe printing systems (Inkjet/Laser/Hot Foil printers).
• Ensure correct printing of product specifications, batch numbers, size, pressure rating, IS codes, date, time, and customer-specific requirements.
• Verify print legibility, alignment, spacing, and permanence on pipes.
• Ensure continuous printing without interrupting extrusion line productivity.

Production Coordination

• Coordinate with Extrusion Operators and Shift Supervisors for changeovers.
• Ensure printing details are updated according to production schedules.
• Support smooth startup and shutdown activities of printing systems.
• Minimize production stoppages due to printer-related issues.

Quality Control

• Conduct regular checks for print quality and compliance with BIS/customer requirements.
• Ensure traceability information is correctly printed on all pipes.
• Raise NCRs for recurring print defects and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain printing quality records and inspection reports.

Printer Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printers and print heads.
• Monitor ink levels, solvents, ribbons, cartridges, and spare parts.
• Troubleshoot printer faults and coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdown support.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules.

Consumables Management

• Control inventory of inks, solvents, ribbons, cleaning agents, and spare parts.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of consumables.
• Reduce ink wastage and optimize consumable consumption.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain shift-wise printing logs and equipment records.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Support audits related to production traceability and product identification.

Continuous Improvement
