Job summary

Asian Paints Limited in Satara, Maharashtra seeks a Warehouse Operations professional to manage inward, production support and dispatch activities ensuring smooth material flow.

You will lead a technical team, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, maintain 5S standards, optimize stock, and drive safety and continuous process improvements within the site.

The role requires hands-on oversight of SAP EWM, forklift operations, and CAPA reporting, with focus on service levels and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Handle material inwarding through EWM (SAP) and ensure QA compliance.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Planning & Security to unload materials as per process.
• Ensure material availability and transfer to production blocks.
• Coordinate with Engineering and IT teams for resolution of breakdowns.
• Plan and coordinate dispatch with Central Distribution to align trucks with orders.
• Generate pick lists of SKUs per the daily dispatch plan and execute deliveries to depots.
• Lead a technical team, schedule shifts, manage grievances, and develop reportees.
• Manage contractual manpower (Fork Lift Operators, Helpers, loading/unloading) via supervisors.
• Maintain asset care and 5S; coordinate with Engineering for uptime and asset issues.
• Prepare and maintain CAPA repository in coordination with stakeholders.
• Ensure 5S practices in the work area and proper housekeeping.
• Maintain stock accounting across storage units and ensure SAP EWM hygiene.
• Analyse causes of material variance and drive swift closures.
• Support Safety, Health & Environment by risk assessment and action plans.
• Prepare day-to-day operational reports for circulation to hierarchy.
• Manage exceptions as per quality system and hierarchy direction.

Job description

• Material In warding:
• Performing physical material Inwarding through EWM (SAP) as per Asian Paints Quality System.
• Coordination with Purchase, Planning & Security team to ensure all systemic requirements are adhered to prior to unloading of materials.
• Production Support:
• Ensuring material availability in desired storage locations and material transfer to production blocks.
• Coordination with Engineering team, IT Team, etc. for resolution of breakdowns.
• Material Dispatch:
• Co-ordination with Central Distribution team to ensure planning of trucks in line with orders placed
• Generation of pick list of SKUs as per target dispatch plan for the day, execution of deliveries in order to service material to depots as per agreed service levels.
• Team Management:
• Handling a team of technical team members (Asian Paints employees), scheduling of shifts, grievance resolution, development of reportees, etc.
• Contractual Manpower Management:
• Managing and optimization of contractual manpower such as Fork Lift Operators, Helpers, Loading and Unloading manpower, through contractor supervisors to ensure uninterrupted flow of work.
• Maintaining a track of contractual manpower performance.
• Asset Care and 5S:
• Responsible for maintenance of all assets in the work area, ensuring maximum uptime of all equipment and resolving asset related issues in coordination with Engineering team.
• Preparing and maintaining a repository of Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA) of exceptions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensuring proper 5S of the work area
• Stock Management:
• Ensuring proper accounting of all material stocks across various storage units in work location through accurate tracking of physical material movement & maintenance of EWM (SAP) hygiene.
• Coordination with relevant stakeholders to analyze causes leading to Material Variance and swift closure of same.
• Safety, Health & Environment:
• Identification of Hazards and Risk Assessment and implementation of action plan to reduce hazards.
• Performing bi-annual Self-Assessment of Asian Paints Safety Quality System relevant to work area.
• Ensuring timely scrap movement to Scrapyard in coordination with EHS team.
• Process Improvement:
• To aid the department in improvement of processes through ideation sessions, Kaizen and cost benefit analysis.
• Preparation of Reports:
• Preparation of day-to-day operational reports in desired format for circulation to hierarchy
• Exception Handling:
• To carry out activities in order to manage exceptions as per Asian Paints Quality System and/or direction of hierarchy as applicable.
