Job summary

Asian Paints Limited in India is seeking a Warehouse Operations Specialist to manage material inwarding, dispatch planning and stock control within plant premises. The role emphasizes SAP-EWM based processes, safety, 5S, CAPA, and continuous improvement through Kaizen.

The selected candidate will lead a technical team, coordinate with Purchase, IT, Engineering, and EHS, ensure on-time material availability, and optimize manpower and contracts to sustain uninterrupted production.

Qualifications

• Additional certification in Lean, Six Sigma or similar process improvement tools.
• Experience in warehouse operations and safety practices.
• Knowledge of SAP/EWM based material inwarding and dispatch processes.

Responsibilities

• Performing physical material Inwarding through EWM (SAP) as per Asian Paints Quality System.
• Coordination with Purchase, Planning & Security team to ensure all systemic requirements are adhered to prior to unloading of materials.
• Ensuring material availability in desired storage locations and material transfer to production blocks.
• Coordination with Engineering team, IT Team, etc. for resolution of breakdowns.
• Co-ordination with Central Distribution team to ensure planning of trucks in line with orders placed.
• Generation of pick list of SKUs as per target dispatch plan for the day, execution of deliveries in order to service material to depots as per agreed service levels.
• Handling a team of technical team members, scheduling of shifts, grievance resolution, development of reportees, etc.
• Managing and optimization of contractual manpower such as Fork Lift Operators, Helpers, Loading and Unloading manpower, through contractor supervisors to ensure uninterrupted flow of work.
• Maintaining a track of contractual manpower performance.
• Responsible for maintenance of all assets in the work area, ensuring maximum uptime of all equipment and resolving asset related issues in coordination with Engineering team.
• Preparing and maintaining a repository of CAPA of exceptions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
• Ensuring proper 5S of the work area.
• On time Preventive Maintenance, Logging of issues in desired format.
• CAPA readiness within desired timelines.
• Ensuring proper accounting of all material stocks across various storage units in work location through accurate tracking of physical material movement & maintenance of EWM hygiene.
• Coordination with relevant stakeholders to analyze causes leading to Material Variance and swift closure of same.
• Identification of Hazards and Risk Assessment and implementation of action plan to reduce hazards.
• Performing bi-annual Self-Assessment of Asian Paints Safety Quality System relevant to work area.
• Ensuring timely scrap movement to Scrapyard in coordination with EHS team.
• Timely closure of HIRA and timely closure of observed Non-Compliances.
• Process Improvement through ideation sessions, Kaizen and cost benefit analysis.
• Preparation of day-to-day operational reports and managing exceptions per Asian Paints Quality System.

Qualifications

Previous Experience

• 1-3 years of relevant work experience
• Worked in a team and managed teams as in a warehouse environment
• Working knowledge of WMS preferably SAP
• Basic knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems
• Technical bent in order to grasp and understand systems
• Positive Outlook, Good communication skills, Detail Oriented, Problem Solving attitude, Fast learning curve
