Job summary

Mangalam Drugs & Organics in Gujarat seeks an ETP Manager/Sr. Manager to develop, implement, and monitor EHS systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in an API/chemical manufacturing facility.

The role oversees ETP operations, environmental compliance, safety programs, risk assessments, audits, and liaison with authorities such as GPCB, while driving ISO 14001/45001 adoption and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety or recognized EHS qualification.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in API, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of ETP operations and environmental regulations.
  • Proven experience liaising with government and regulatory authorities.
  • Familiarity with Factory Act, Environmental Protection Act, Water Act, Air Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, MSIHC Rules, and related EHS regulations.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Process Safety Management (PSM) and emergency response systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to relocate to Vapi and reside near the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operation, maintenance and performance of the ETP and related environmental systems.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations including wastewater, emissions, and waste management.
  • Implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures and management systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, HAZOP studies, JSA and safety audits.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities such as GPCB and other agencies.
  • Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.

Job Summary

The ETP Manager /Sr. Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) systems to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, company policies, and industry standards. The role includes managing environmental operations, overseeing Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operations, coordinating with regulatory authorities, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring sustainable manufacturing practices in an API/Chemical manufacturing facility.

Role & responsibilities
  • Oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and related environmental systems.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including wastewater, air emissions, hazardous waste, and solid waste management.
  • Implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments, HAZOP studies, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety audits.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities such as the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and other government agencies
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety and environmental performance.
Preferred candidate profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety or a recognized EHS qualification.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in API, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of ETP operations, hazardous waste management, environmental regulations, and pollution control systems.
  • Proven experience in Liasoning with government and regulatory authorities.
  • Thorough understanding of Factory Act, Environmental Protection Act, Water Act, Air Act, Hazardous Waste Rules, MSIHC Rules, and other applicable EHS regulations.
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Process Safety Management (PSM), and emergency response systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to Vapi and reside in close proximity to the manufacturing facility to ensure operational availability and emergency response readiness.
