Job summary

Isgec Heavy Engineering in India seeks an Estimation Engineer to prepare cost estimates for heat exchangers, vessels, columns, and tanks, and to calculate material requirements and fabrication hours.

You will read customer RFQs, prepare technical offers, coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams, and maintain estimation records to support pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Experience in estimation and costing of heavy equipment.
• Familiar with ASME, TEMA, IBR and basic design codes.
• Strong Excel skills and engineering calculations.
• Ability to read GA drawings and isometrics.

Job Description Estimation Engineer

1. Estimation & Costing

• Prepare cost estimates for equipment like heat exchangers, pressure vessels, columns, reactors, tanks, etc.
• Calculate material requirements (plates, pipes, tubes, forgings, fittings).
• Estimate fabrication hours, welding hours, NDT, machining, painting, and testing.
• Prepare BOQ and costing sheets.

2. Technical Proposal Preparation

• Read and understand customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, data sheets.
• Prepare technical offers and compliance sheets.
• Highlight deviations and clarifications to customers.

3. Coordination

• Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams for inputs.
• Take vendor quotations for bought-out items.
• Support the sales team during techno-commercial discussions.

4. Documentation

• Maintain estimation records, previous costing data, and learning sheets.
• Prepare project cost summaries and assist in pricing strategies.

Skills Required

• Strong understanding of fabrication of heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of ASME, TEMA, IBR, and basic design codes.
• Good in Excel and basic engineering calculations.
• Ability to read drawings (GA, fabrication, isometrics).
• Good communication and coordination skills.
