Job summary

Watchdog Security in Mumbai seeks an Estimation Engineer to prepare accurate cost estimates and technical proposals for data centre, ELV, and integrated security projects. You will review drawings and bills of quantities, and identify material, labour, and subcontracting needs.

Collaboration with sales, design, and project teams will help develop competitive bids, value-engineered solutions, and clear scope clarifications. Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with AutoCAD are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of estimation for ELV, BMS, fire & life safety, and data centre infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read drawings, technical specs, and tender documents to prepare clear BOQs.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and comparing offers to support bid competitiveness.
• Strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with estimation tools.

Role Description

The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and technical proposals for data centre, smart infrastructure, fire and life safety, and integrated security projects. On a day-to-day basis, this role reviews drawings and specifications, analyzes bills of quantities, and identifies material, labor, and subcontracting requirements for ELV, BMS, security, and related systems. The Estimation Engineer collaborates with sales, design, and project teams to develop competitive bids, value-engineered solutions, and detailed scope clarifications aligned with client requirements and standards. The role includes coordinating with vendors for pricing, validating technical compliance, supporting pre‑sales presentations, and updating estimation databases and templates. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai.

Qualifications

• Strong estimation and costing skills for ELV, BMS, fire and life safety, security, and data centre infrastructure projects, including quantity take-offs and pricing analysis.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tender documents, with the ability to prepare clear bills of quantities and scope summaries.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes for fire alarm, gas suppression, CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and building automation systems.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and subcontractors for technical and commercial quotations, and comparing offers to support competitive bid preparation.
• Solid skills in MS Excel and other estimation or project tools; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related engineering discipline; prior experience in system integration or critical infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to work to deadlines on multiple concurrent tenders.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and interact professionally with clients.
