Job summary

Larsen & Toubro Limited, Chennai, is hiring for Equipment & Specialty Conveyors - Design. The role requires hands-on experience in material handling equipment and related steel structures, with 3–20 years in mining, port or steel sectors.

You will develop designs, perform calculations, review vendor documents, and support projects through execution and commissioning, using AutoCAD or Inventor for modelling and ensuring compliance with Indian/International standards.

Qualifications

• Full-time Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university/institute.
• 3–20 years of experience in engineering & design of material handling, mining, steel or port equipment.
• Strong knowledge of machine design, drive systems, hydraulics, and structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design belt conveyors, pipe conveyors, stacker reclaimers, wagon tipplers, and feeders.
• Prepare design calculations, sizing, drive selection, specifications, datasheets, and deliverables.
• Review drawings and vendor offers to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations, vendor offer reviews and provide procurement recommendations.
• Review and approve vendor documents, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and design submissions.
• Provide technical support to project teams during execution, construction and commissioning.
