Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of technicians to plan and implement preventive maintenance and calibration of GEL lab equipment.
• Knowledge about ISO/IEC 17025 standard for calibration (Mechanical, Electrical, Thermal, etc.).
• Install, maintain, and calibrate laboratory and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with semiconductor laboratory tools such as temperature chamber, HAST chamber, soak chamber, tester, reflow oven, temperature cycle, THB, bend tester, CSAM, shock tester, X‑section, FTIR, SEM, 3D X‑ray, FIB, and related instruments.
• Perform equipment troubleshooting and work closely with vendors to resolve issues.
• Maintain and troubleshoot test equipment and systems to support production processes.
• Identify and resolve recurring equipment downtime issues; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct failure analysis and lead RCCA (Root Cause and Corrective Action) and PA (Preventive Action) processes for manufacturing failures.
• Coordinate with IT support, engineering, logistics, and purchasing teams regarding service requests and equipment needs.
• Install operating systems (Windows/Linux) for lab equipment, servers, and desktops.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
• Assist lab and production staff with equipment setup and operational training.
• Support audits and inspections by providing equipment documentation.
• Collaborate with vendors and Facilities/IE teams on new equipment setup, modification, and upgrades.
• Ensure proper record keeping and documentation of equipment information in the Equipment Tracking System.
• Use the Equipment Tracking System to study equipment trends and data; prioritize equipment‑related requests from GEL partners and provide timely responses.
• Coordinate with vendors to provide relevant training on new equipment or tool sets and with internal partners for GEL equipment audit inspections.
• Knowledge about ESD and clean room practices.
• Bridge communication between team members and management to drive tasks and guide team members.
• Maintain effective communication with team members to drive daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–9 years of experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Science with engineering studies.
• At least one year of experience in engineering lab maintenance.
• Meticulous attention to detail, perseverance, and a passion for ensuring maximum test case coverage.
• Clear‑headed, results‑oriented, systematic, and methodical approach to solving problems.
• Self‑motivated, with initiative and the ability to work independently.
• Strong communication skills, fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma for laboratories, Kaizen, Lean, and related continuous improvement methodologies.
• Flexible working time, shifts, and travel (0–20%).
