Job summary

Sensata is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Engineer in Chennai, India to ensure smooth, reliable operation of industrial machinery and support systems. You will troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment, dismantle and rebuild components, and use diagnostic tools to perform checks, with a focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement across manufacturing lines.

Qualifications

• A university degree is required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues in electro-mechanical equipment used in manufacturing.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to layouts, manuals or drawings.
• Use test/diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts and verify performance.
• Organize rebuilds and modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers.

Job description

The Equipment Maintenance Engineer is responsible for checking, repairing and servicing machinery, equipment, systems and infrastructures to ensure that industrial machinery and equipment runs smoothly and reliably.

General Responsibilities

• Key participant in electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non-functioning electro-mechanical equipment used in the manufacturing process
• Key participant in dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings
• Uses test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts
• Organizes rebuilds manufacturing equipment as required. May perform equipment modifications as directed by manufacturing engineers

Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
