Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids in India seeks a Shop Engineer to maintain plant equipment in a safe, compliant, and reliable condition. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues, and track key KPIs while working shifts in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a Diploma/ Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 4–5 years of relevant experience, and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
• 4-5 years of experience as Shop Engineer, preferably in Transformer Industry.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Executes work following HITACHI Energy standard processes and safety guidelines.
• Regular maintenance of equipment.
• Routine maintenance complying with health and safety guidelines and reports non-compliance.
• Operates within standard operating procedures and maintains a clean work area.
• Live Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions and colleagues.
• Track maintenance KPIs like MTBF, MTTR, downtime and spare parts usage.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns.
• Good basic communication skills to co-ordinate with cross functional team.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues.
• Handle shifts individually.
• Basic knowledge of 5S activities.
• Maintain machine checklist and record machine history.

Your Background
