Job summary

NeuraNx.ai in Chennai is seeking a Trainer to lead our English transcription review team. You will build and scale a cohort of Reviewers who transcribe, correct, and finalize audio files to client-ready transcripts with strict style guidelines.

You’ll design onboarding, coach on clean-verbatim English, calibrate quality, and grow senior reviewers as we expand from a pilot to ~90 seats, measuring ramp productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own the Curriculum: build and maintain training materials, house style guide, and certification path; update as client guides change.
• Coach English Fundamentals: teach grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting to a single standard; refresh on common errors.
• Develop Senior / Lead Reviewers: identify top performers and grow them into senior roles to guide others.
• Run Calibration: hold manual proofing sessions; ensure uniform transcription and formatting across reviewers.
• Own Ramp-Quality Metrics: monitor time-to-productivity, accuracy, rejection, and rework rates.
• Pick Up New Domains Fast: absorb new subjects and turn them into training materials.

About the Role

We run a high-accuracy, human-driven English transcription review operation. Reviewers listen to raw audio from scratch and deliver clean, accurate, client-ready transcripts—working on platforms and to strict quality standards similar to TranscribeMe. We rely on skilled human ears, strict style-guide adherence, and manual proofreading rather than AI/automated draft editing.

As Trainer, you own how quickly and how well new joiners reach production standard. You will build our team of Reviewers who transcribe, correct, and finalize audio files to a client-ready bar. You will design and run onboarding, coach on clean-verbatim style and English grammar, calibrate the team to a single standard, and grow reviewer capability as we scale from a small pilot team to ~90 seats.

What You'll Do

• Onboard New Reviewers: Deliver structured training on human transcription techniques, platform/tool navigation, clean-verbatim rules, speech tags (inaudible, crosstalk, etc.), speaker labeling, timestamps, and researching names and terms.
• Own the Curriculum: Build and maintain training materials, the house style guide, and a certification/assessment path; keep them current as client style guides change (US vs. Commonwealth English, file-specific rules).
• Coach English Fundamentals: Teach grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting to one consistent standard; run targeted refreshers on recurring error patterns.
• Develop Senior / Lead Reviewers: Identify strong performers and grow them into senior reviewer roles who can guide others and hold the quality bar as the team expands.
• Run Calibration: Hold regular manual proofing sessions so all reviewers transcribe and format the same file the exact same way; track and close inconsistencies between reviewers.
• Own Ramp-Quality Metrics: Monitor and report time-to-productivity, accuracy/rejection rate, critical-error rate, and rework rate against the hiring ramp.
• Pick Up New Domains Fast: Absorb new subject areas and client accounts quickly and turn them into clear training material (e.g., US legal transcription conventions).

Must Have

• Excellent Command of English: Near-native grammar, punctuation, and spelling (US and Commonwealth), with strong reading comprehension and a sharp ear for difficult audio.
• Manual Transcription & Proofreading Background: Hands-on experience doing manual audio transcription, proofreading, or quality control, with deep familiarity in clean-verbatim rules.
• Fast Domain Learner: Able to absorb a new subject or style guide and teach it clearly within days, not weeks.
• Coaching Instinct: Patient, structured, and able to provide actionable feedback that drives measurable behavioral change.
• Detail-Obsessed: Comfortable holding a strict human quality standard and working toward defined accuracy targets.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to US legal / court transcription conventions—verbatim vs. non-verbatim, speaker labels, bracketed notation (e.g., [phonetic], [indiscernible]), and numeral/formatting rules.
• Hands-on experience with TranscribeMe, Rev, GoTranscript, Verbit, or similar platforms as a manual transcriber or reviewer.
• Experience handling varied English accents (US, UK, Australian, Indian) and low-quality audio files.
• Prior experience standing up human training operations for a new or scaling team.

Success in the First 90 Days

• New reviewers reliably reach production accuracy within the defined ramp window.
• A documented house style guide, training deck, and certification test are fully live.
• At least one internal Senior Reviewer cohort is trained and holding the quality standard independently.
