Job summary

LabourNetFoundation invites qualified trainers to deliver structured language programs in Assam, covering Japanese and English communication, alongside employment readiness training for candidates pursuing overseas recruitment. Participants will be assessed through mock tests and performance reviews, with a focus on practical language use, workplace etiquette and cross-cultural communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Japanese, English, Education or related discipline.
• JLPT N3 required; N2+ preferred for advanced instruction.
• Relevant teaching experience in Japanese language training, preferably 13 years.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured language classes from beginner to intermediate levels aligned with JLPT N5/N4 and/or JFT-Basic requirements.
• Develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Teach Japanese scripts: Hiragana, Katakana and introductory Kanji.
• Prepare candidates for language assessments through mock tests, practice exercises and evaluations.
• Introduce Japanese workplace etiquette, culture, discipline and professional conduct.
• Improve candidates' spoken English, grammar, vocabulary and comprehension.
• Coordinate with placement teams, employers and international mobility partners.
• Align language training with occupational requirements of target sectors such as caregiving, hospitality, agriculture, manufacturing, construction and food services, as applicable.
• Maintain attendance, progress reports, assessment records and candidate portfolios.
• Contribute to curriculum development, lesson plans, teaching materials and digital learning resources.

Job description

A. Japanese Language Training

• Deliver structured Japanese language classes from beginner to intermediate levels, aligned with JLPT N5/N4 and/or JFT-Basic requirements.
• Develop candidates' listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.
• Teach Japanese scripts: Hiragana, Katakana and introductory Kanji.
• Prepare candidates for language assessments through mock tests, practice exercises and evaluations.
• Introduce Japanese workplace etiquette, culture, discipline and professional conduct.

B. English Communication Training

• Improve candidates' spoken English, grammar, vocabulary and comprehension.
• Conduct sessions on workplace communication, interviews, presentations and professional interactions.
• Support candidates in preparing CVs, participating in interviews and communicating effectively in multicultural workplaces.

C. Employment Readiness

• Align language training with the occupational requirements of target sectors such as caregiving, hospitality, agriculture, manufacturing, construction and food services, as applicable.
• Integrate sector-specific Japanese vocabulary and workplace scenarios.
• Prepare candidates for employer interviews and overseas recruitment assessments.
• Coordinate with placement teams, employers and international mobility partners.

D. Assessment and Candidate Management

• Conduct baseline assessments and periodic evaluations.
• Maintain attendance, progress reports, assessment records and candidate portfolios.
• Provide additional support to candidates requiring remedial training.
• Track training completion, examination outcomes and employment-readiness indicators.

E. Programme Coordination

• Collaborate with centre management and mobilisation teams to achieve training and certification targets.
• Contribute to curriculum development, lesson plans, teaching materials and digital learning resources.
• Ensure training quality and adherence to programme timelines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Japanese, English, Education or a related discipline; a relevant Japanese language qualification is essential.
• Japanese proficiency of at least JLPT N3 for a standard trainer role; JLPT N2 or above preferred for advanced instruction.
• Relevant teaching experience in Japanese language training, preferably 13 years.
• Strong English communication and classroom facilitation skills.
• Experience in overseas employment, SSW pathways or vocational training is desirable.
