Job summary

Nextnation is seeking a dedicated Japanese Language Trainer to conduct engaging classes for diverse learners in a Bengaluru-based onsite role. You will design lesson plans and deliver instruction to build speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, with a focus on JLPT preparation.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Japanese or education, with JLPT N2/N1 preferred, and experience teaching in EdTech or language training settings. Strong organizational and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Japanese, Languages, Education, or a related field.
• JLPT N2/N1 certification preferred; teaching certification welcomed.
• Experience teaching Japanese language to diverse learners is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct engaging and interactive Japanese language classes for students.
• Develop learners' skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
• Prepare and deliver structured lesson plans based on the learners' proficiency level.
• Teach Japanese grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, pronunciation, and communication skills.
• Use practical examples, activities, role plays, and conversations to improve language proficiency.
• Adapt teaching methods according to individual learner needs and progress.

Examination Preparation

• Prepare students for JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) and other relevant Japanese language assessments.
• Conduct regular tests, mock examinations, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Identify learning gaps and conduct remedial or additional sessions where required.
• Track and report students' academic progress.

Learning Material & Content

• Develop and maintain lesson plans, worksheets, presentations, assignments, and assessment materials.
• Curate relevant Japanese learning resources and practice materials.
• Incorporate Japanese culture, workplace etiquette, and practical communication into training wherever relevant.
• Continuously improve training content based on learner feedback and performance.

Student Engagement & Support

• Maintain a positive, supportive, and disciplined learning environment.
• Address students' academic queries and provide appropriate guidance.
• Monitor attendance, participation, and overall learner engagement.
• Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance.
• Motivate students to consistently practice and improve their Japanese language skills.

Academic Coordination

• Coordinate with the Academic/Operations team regarding batch schedules, attendance, assessments, and academic activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and assessment results.
• Participate in trainer meetings, academic reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Provide regular feedback to the Academic Manager regarding student progress and batch performance.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Japanese language.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of Japanese grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and understandable manner.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
• Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create structured lesson plans and training materials.
• Good knowledge of MS Office / Google Workspace.

Qualification

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Japanese, Languages, Education, or a relevant field.
• JLPT N2/N1 certification preferred.
• Candidates with relevant Japanese language teaching certification or experience will be preferred.
• Prior experience as a Japanese Language Trainer/Teacher is an advantage.
