Job summary

Saaki Argus and Averil Consulting seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong substation design experience for Oil & Gas EPC projects in Chennai. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee HV/EHV substations, and ensure conformance with standards and safety requirements.

Responsibilities include technical mentorship, handling design changes, and supporting site activities from installation through commissioning, while coordinating with contractors, clients, and vendors to drive project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong Oil & Gas sector experience in EPC, engineering consultancy, or infra projects.
• Proven substation design experience including HV/EHV substations, protection and control, and electrical system design.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating large projects.
• Knowledge of substation engineering standards, electrical equipment, power distribution systems, and project practices.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, or similar electrical design tools.
• Strong planning, technical review, stakeholder management, and problem solving.
• Experience working with EPC contractors, consultants, clients, and vendors.

• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with quality management systems, project requirements, and applicable safety standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and design teams while promoting continuous improvement.
• Support site engineering activities, installation reviews, testing, commissioning, and resolution of field-related design issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably in EPC, engineering consultancy, or infrastructure project environments.
• Proven experience in substation design engineering, including HV/EHV substations, protection and control, and electrical system design.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating large-scale engineering projects.
• Knowledge of substation engineering standards, electrical equipment, power distribution systems, and project engineering practices.
• Familiarity with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, EPLAN, or other relevant electrical engineering software.
• Strong project planning, technical review, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with EPC contractors, consultants, clients, and equipment vendors.
