Job summary

Aver Solutions in India seeks an experienced Engineering Manager Telecom with mandatory Oil & Gas industry experience to lead Telecom engineering design, project execution and commissioning on critical Oil & Gas projects. You will manage engineering deliverables and coordinate with clients to ensure design reviews and FAT/SAT meet the highest standards.

The role requires strong leadership, client-facing skills, and hands-on expertise in FAT/SAT and site commissioning, with a proven track record

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunications or related field.
• 8–13 years of relevant industry experience.
• Mandatory Oil & Gas industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver telecom design documents (Block Diagrams, Functional Design Specifications, Optical Budget).
• Select products per client specifications.
• Review tender documents, perform BOM/quantity take-offs.
• Configure and commission telecom equipment for FAT/SAT.
• Coordinate with customers for document approval and site commissioning.
• Lead commissioning of CCTV, Access Control, PAGA, LAN systems.
• Design communication systems including Radio, SDH/PDH, PAGA, OTN for pipelines/power networks.
• Coordinate with engineering and procurement to meet budget/schedule.
• Ensure timely information flow for design activities to meet technical requirements.
• Manage the engineering team for deliverables.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager Telecom with mandatory Oil & Gas industry experience to lead Telecom Engineering Design, Project Execution and Commissioning activities. The candidate will be responsible for managing Telecom engineering deliverables, technical coordination with clients, design reviews, system selection, FAT/SAT, commissioning and leading the engineering team for Oil & Gas projects.

Job Responsibilities

1. Preparing and delivering Telecom design documents required during the project execution stage, such as Block Diagrams, Functional Design Specifications, and Optical Budget Calculations.
2. Selection of products as per client technical specifications.
3. Review tender/bid documents, specifications, and drawings, perform quantity take-offs /detailed BOM.
4. Configuration and commissioning of the Telecom equipment for FAT and SAT.
5. Co-ordinate with customer for document approval and site commissioning.
6. Commissioning experience of different Telecom and Security systems like SDH, PAGA, CCTV, Access Control, LAN.
7. Experience in designing communication systems including Radio, SDH/PDH, PAGA, and OTN for Oil & Gas Pipelines and Power Networks with different protection schemes.
8. Experience in designing different security systems like CCTV, Access Control, and PAGA systems.
9. Interdisciplinary coordination with the Engineering, Procurement teams in order to meet project budget and schedule and work closely with the Engineering Manager, Procurement manager.
10. Ensure that there is a smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the design activities meeting the technical requirements and standards.
11. Coordinate, manage, and supervise the engineering team for engineering deliverables.

Systems Knowledge

• Security (CCTV, Access Control, and Fence Intrusion Detection) and Life Safety Systems
• Relevant experience with IP CCTV systems, Access Control Systems, and Intrusion Detection systems.
• Familiar with Pelco, Bosch, Synetics, Oxalis CCTV system and/or GE, LENEL, Bosch access control system would be an advantage.
• Experience in voice and/or data network implementation and deployment
• Familiar with Avaya, Cisco, Alcatel Call Manager and Cisco, HP LAN technology or equivalent
• Familiar with Network Management Systems, Firewall, Server Farms, and other server applications
• A knowledge of Fiber Optic backbone and Structured cabling would be an added advantage.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunications.
• Minimum Experience: 8-13 years of relevant industry experience.
• Mandatory Oil & Gas industry experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in Telecom Design, Engineering and Commissioning.
• Experience in FAT/SAT and site commissioning.
• Strong client-facing and technical coordination skills.
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams.
• Should be capable of independently handling technical discussions with clients.
