Job summary

Michael Page client, a fast-growing global engineering and manufacturing organization, seeks an Engineering Manager to lead end-to-end design and development of down-hole completion products for oil & gas customers worldwide.

You will manage engineering activities, ensure API standards compliance, provide technical leadership for testing and failure analysis, and mentor a cross-functional team in a fast-paced global setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years in oilfield equipment or down-hole tools.
• Experience in design and development of completion tools and related down-hole products.
• Strong knowledge of API standards and API certification involvement.
• Hands-on in engineering calculations, validation, design verification, and failure analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks); some FEA/CFD exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and development of down-hole completion products from concept to commercialization.
• Manage engineering activities: design drawings, calculations, specifications, process plans, and quality docs.
• Ensure API standards compliance and lead audits and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for testing, validation, failure analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer teams to resolve challenges.
• Review and approve engineering documentation and customer-specific design changes.
• Drive engineering excellence using CAD, FEA/CFD, and best practices.
• Lead and develop the engineering team and manage KPIs.

Job Description

• Lead end-to-end design and development of down-hole completion products, from concept and material selection through validation and commercialization.
• Manage engineering activities related to product design, drawings, calculations, specifications, process plans, and quality documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant API standards and lead design-related audits, certifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership for product testing, validation, failure analysis, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customer-facing teams to resolve technical challenges and support product delivery.
• Review and approve engineering documentation, technical packages, operational procedures, and customer-specific design modifications.
• Drive engineering excellence through the application of design calculations, CAD tools, FEA/CFD analysis, and industry best practices.
• Lead and develop the engineering team while managing departmental KPIs, technical priorities, and innovation initiatives.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Engineering Manager should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, with 5+ years of experience in oilfield equipment, completion products, or down-hole tools manufacturing.
• Proven experience in the design and development of completion tools, sand control equipment, liner hangers, packers, well intervention tools, or similar down-hole products.
• Strong knowledge of API standards and experience supporting API certifications, audits, and technical compliance requirements.
• Hands‑on expertise in engineering calculations, product validation, design verification, failure analysis, and customer‑specific product development.
• Proficiency in CAD platforms such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or equivalent engineering design software; FEA/CFD exposure is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional engineering teams and work effectively in a fast-paced, global manufacturing environment.
