Job summary

Tkil, Hyderabad, is seeking an Engineering Manager for Balance of Plant (BOP) to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive engineering excellence across coal handling, water systems, HVAC, and switchyard.

You will coordinate with project management, procurement, construction, and commissioning to ensure on-time delivery within budget while upholding safety and quality standards. A strong background in EPC for large thermal projects is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 15–20 years of experience in thermal power plant engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in engineering leadership roles.
• Proven EPC execution experience on large thermal power projects (500/660/800 MW).

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary BOP engineering teams: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and C&I.
• Manage design and execution of Coal Handling, Ash Handling, CW, Water, Fire Protection, HVAC, Switchyard.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, calculations, specs, layouts, and vendor documents.
• Coordinate with BTG, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, codes, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Support technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, and client/consultant discussions.
• Drive progress in line with schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments.
• Provide technical guidance for site issues, design changes, construction and commissioning.
• Identify risks, implement mitigations, and promote value engineering.

Position

Engineering Manager Balance of Plant (BOP)

Job Purpose

Lead and manage all engineering activities related to BOP systems for a 2 660 MW thermal power project, ensuring timely delivery, technical excellence, cost optimization, and successful project execution from engineering through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary BOP engineering teams comprising Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and C&I disciplines.
• Manage engineering design and execution of Coal Handling, Ash Handling, CW System, Water Systems, Fire Protection, HVAC, Switchyard, and other BOP facilities.
• Review and approve engineering deliverables, design calculations, specifications, layouts, and vendor documents.
• Coordinate with BTG, Project Management, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
• Support technical bid evaluations, vendor selection, and engineering discussions with clients and consultants.
• Drive engineering progress in line with project schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments.
• Provide technical guidance for site issues, design changes, construction support, and commissioning activities.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation measures, and promote value engineering initiatives.
