Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership for the development team, defining vision, standards, and ensuring delivery of features with strong focus on non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities include designing scalable software architectures using .NET/C#, React.js, and cloud platforms (GCP/Azure), driving DevOps practices, code quality, and mentoring engineers while collaborating with product, design, and QA teams.

Qualifications

• Strong technical expertise in C#, .NET Core and related frameworks.
• Experience in React.js.
• Deep understanding of design patterns, system design and engineering best practices.
• Relational DB knowledge (SQL, PostgreSQL); knowledge of BigQuery, Redis, and Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture (RabbitMQ, Google Pub/Sub) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with DevOps tools (GitLab CI/CD).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP (preferred) or Azure.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, multi-tenant services, cloud-native apps and Unix/Linux.
• Understanding of Testing Pyramid and related tools.
• Knowledge of code quality and secure code tools (SonarQube, Checkmarx, ESLint, Resharper, Trivy).
• SDLC and Agile methodologies.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Experience on product background or projects.
• Knowledge of AdTech or Retail domain is a plus.
• Automation tools is an added advantage.

Job description

Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership to the development team by setting the technical vision, defining best practices, and establishing coding standards.

Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The engineering Manager is responsible for being the guardian and owner of non-functional requirements, overseeing their backlog and prioritization. They are also accountable for ensuring the timely delivery of these requirements in conjunction with implementing new features.

Software Architecture: Design and architect scalable, reliable, secured, high performance software systems that leverage technologies such as .NET, C#, and cloud platforms (GCP and Azure). Promote a modular and maintainable architecture that accommodates future growth and changes.

Cloud Development: Leverage your expertise in cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure to design, deploy, and manage cloud- based applications and services. Optimize the performance and cost-effectiveness of cloud resources.

DevOps Best Practices: Champion DevOps best practices within the team and across the organization. Implement trunk-based development, mono repo strategies, and CI/CD practices to ensure rapid and reliable software delivery.

Code Review and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality, identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and ensure adherence to coding standards. Implement testing strategies to validate the functionality and resilience of software components.

Technical Mentoring: Coach and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Share your knowledge and expertise through workshops, presentations, and documentation.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions collaboratively. Effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Research and Innovation: Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in software development, cloud technologies, and best engineering practices. Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve our products and development processes.

User Support and On-Call Responsibilities: Purpose: Provide technical support to users,

address their queries, and ensure prompt issue resolution.Participate in an on-call rotation

to respond to critical incidents outside regular working hours.

Required Skills:

Strong technical expertise in C#, .NET Core and related frameworks.

Experience in React.js

Deep understanding of design patterns, solid principles, system design and Engineering best practices.

Deep knowledge of Relational Database (SQL ,PostgreSQL). Knowledge of Big query, Reddis and Elastic Search is a plus.

Familiarity with Microservices architecture, Event-Driven Architecture (RabbitMQ, Google Pub-Sub) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with DevOps tools(Gitlab CI/CD) and practices.

Proven experience with cloud platforms such as GCP (Preferred) or Azure.

Deep understanding of distributed systems, multi-tenant services, cloud-native applications and Unix/Linux environments.

Knowledge of Testing Pyramid approach with relevant tools knowledge at each level.

Knowledge of Code Quality and Secure code scan tools like SonarQube, Checkmarx, ESLint, Resharper and Trivy.

Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team.
