Job summary

Phenom People is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for building and scaling core platform capabilities within Phenom’s AI-driven talent experience platform.

You will partner with Product, TPM, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable enterprise-grade systems, drive architecture, and develop engineers for growth in a rapid, global environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering in product-focused orgs.
• 4+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Backend development with Java or similar languages.
• Experience building microservices-based architectures.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Strong system design and architecture skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives from architecture and design through production deployment.

What You’ll Do

Lead Engineering Execution

Build and Develop High-Performing Teams

• Hire, mentor, and grow a team of strong software engineers.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Ensure production systems meet reliability, performance and scalability targets.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements.
