● Job Title: Engineering Manager

Your Role in the Bigger Picture: As an Engineering Manager you will directly lead our entire engineering function across web, mobile, and backend teams. This is not a role for people who just manage resources-it’s for someone who obsesses over delivery hygiene, team accountability, technical depth, and cross-team velocity. You’ll work closely with the Founder to set the culture, cadence, and standards for engineering excellence.

What You will do:

● Drive delivery metrics - velocity, code quality, tech debt management, release cadences, and rollout stability.

● Review and continuously improve internal processes to ensure consistent client satisfaction and engineering throughput.

● Bring clarity in chaos by implementing lean but effective processes for sprint planning, QA, and release management.

● Build and scale a high-performance engineering culture rooted in ownership, trust, and rapid delivery.

● Coach leads to drive deep accountability, proactive problem-solving, and cross-functional thinking.

● Help retain top talent while identifying leadership potential within the team.

● Ensure architectural alignment and quality across multiple teams and platforms.

● Make sound decisions in choosing between building from scratch vs reusing existing solutions.

● Be hands-on when needed-while this is not an IC role, strong tech judgment is non-negotiable.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

The Experience That Sets You Apart: 10–12 years of total experience, with at least 3+ years in engineering leadership roles managing 50+ engineers

● Strong grasp of full-stack commerce systems - experience in Shopify ecosystem is a big plus.

● Proven ability to scale teams, systems, and processes rapidly without compromising quality.

● Strong communication skills and executive presence - someone who can talk to both developers and founders with clarity.
