Persistent Systems in Pune seeks an experienced Senior Python & AWS Engineer to design, build, deploy, and support production-grade AI and enterprise integration solutions. You will transform customer requirements into scalable, secure deployments while collaborating with product, engineering, and customer teams.

The role emphasizes Python, AWS, APIs, data pipelines, IaC, and observability, with hybrid work options and a fast-paced environment. 8–12 years of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software/ backend or cloud engineering experience.
• Strong Python development and AWS cloud services expertise.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and data pipelines.
• IaC and CI/CD experience with Terraform, CloudFormation or similar.
• Solid debugging, troubleshooting, and distributed systems knowledge.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python & AWS Engineer who can independently design, build, deploy, and support production-grade AI and enterprise integration solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python development, AWS cloud services, APIs, data pipelines, infrastructure automation, observability, and DevOps practices. In this role, you will take AI agent configurations and customer system requirements and transform them into scalable, secure, observable, and reliable production deployments. You will work across application development, integrations, cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, monitoring, and operational excellence while collaborating with product, engineering, and customer teams.

What You'll Do:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend applications and integration services using Python.
• Build production-ready AI agent deployment solutions integrating with customer applications and enterprise systems.
• Develop and maintain secure REST APIs and integration frameworks.
• Design and implement reliable data flows between internal platforms and external customer environments.
• Create, manage, and optimize cloud-native architectures on AWS.
• Build and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and processing pipelines.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions to ensure platform observability.
• Establish operational dashboards and define metrics to measure business and technical outcomes.
• Design resilient, fault-tolerant, and highly available cloud solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Optimize application, infrastructure, and data pipeline performance.
• Collaborate with customers, architects, and engineering teams to understand integration requirements and deliver solutions.
• Ensure security, compliance, scalability, and reliability standards are maintained across deployments.
• Support production operations and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• 8 to 12 years of experience in Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Backend Development.
• Strong proficiency in Python development and backend application architecture.
• Extensive experience developing RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
• Hands-on experience integrating applications with third-party systems and enterprise platforms.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
• Experience building and managing scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with NoSQL and cloud-based database solutions.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation practices.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with observability tools covering monitoring, metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
• Knowledge of application performance tuning and operational optimization.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git and GitHub.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience building secure and resilient cloud solutions.
• Ability to independently own and deliver complex engineering initiatives from design through production support.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.
