Job summary

Simple Energy is seeking a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer to model and simulate vehicle performance, support chassis design, and optimize ride quality. You will lead data collection, validate models with real-world tests, and correlate objective results with simulation outputs.

Ideal candidates have hands-on testing experience, strong communication skills, and exposure to EV platforms or motorsport contexts. Location: Bengaluru area, on site.

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle dynamics fundamentals.
• 2–3 years of core experience in the 2W/4W vehicle dynamics domain.
• Experience with MATLAB & Simulink and vehicle simulation tools.
• Hands-on testing and data acquisition experience.

Job description: Engineer - Vehicle Dynamics

About The Gig

As a Vehicle Dynamics Engineer, your primary focus will be on the simulation and mathematical modeling of vehicles across the ride quality and handling domain. In this role, you will build, execute, and validate virtual vehicle models to support chassis design and performance optimization. Secondarily, you will support physical testing by leading objective data acquisition, data logging, analysis, and model correlation utilising vehicle dynamics fundamentals.

To be successful you will be expected to

• Develop mathematical models to simulate vehicle performance across various use cases and load conditions, establishing performance targets for suspension, steering, and tires using MATLAB & Simulink, BikeSim.
• Optimization of chassis and suspension geometry based on simulation predictions and vehicle dynamics principles.
• Provide objective data guidance on vehicle dynamics, ride quality, and handling performance derived directly from vehicle-level simulation outputs.
• Perform objective data collection and analysis, setting up instrumentation, data loggers, accelerometers, and data acquisition systems on prototype vehicles.
• Execute real-world test data analysis and drive the correlation process between simulation models, objective test results, and core vehicle dynamics fundamentals.
• Leverage hands-on riding skills to correlate subjective dynamic feel with objective data logger results, VD fundamentals, and simulation outputs.
• Work collaboratively with tires, steering, and suspension suppliers/teams to specify components and recommend tire design tuning to meet overall program targets.
• Coordinate prototype vehicles, track testing activities, document development findings, and present analytical and experimental results.

You must have any or a combination of any of the following:

• Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Core Expertise: Deep knowledge of vehicle dynamics fundamentals and extensive hands-on experience in mathematical modeling and vehicle simulation software (MATLAB & Simulink, BikeSim, CarSim, FTire, ADAMS).
• Proven track record with 2--3 years (up to 5 years) of core experience in the 2W or 4W vehicle dynamics domain.(2W Preferred)
• Specialized expertise in ride quality & handling, two-wheeler cornering characteristics, suspension geometry, and tire modeling/tuning.
• Hands-on testing capability in objective data acquisition, instrumentation setup, sensor calibration (accelerometers, GPS, strain gauges), data loggers, and test data analysis.
• Strong communication, technical reporting, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with electric vehicles, off-road applications, high-performance platforms, or motorsports is a plus.
